Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (2018)

For road warriors who value portability and are blessed with generous IT budgets, it doesn't get much better than the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. This ultraportable takes nearly everything there is to love about full-size ThinkPads and puts it in a much smaller, but just as good-looking, package.

Premium build quality; Thin and light; Very good battery life; Quick charging

Expensive; Finicky touch screen; Anemic speakers; No Ethernet port

Thinkpad X1 Carbon has Exceeded my Expectations

Snappy boot time, i7 processor, 500 GB SSD hard drive, durable and responsive keyboard, didn't scrimp on RAM (16GB) to keep the price down, light as a feather and durable. Lenovo's X1 Carbon line has been widely regarded as the company's flagship business-class laptop over the past few years. The previous model, which we pored over in , brought a new, more compact chassis design with it, along with thinner display bezels and a refresh of Intel's Kaby Lake mobile...

Understated; Premium Good Looks; Excellent Performance; Class-Leading 14-inch HDR Display; Solid Battery Life; Best Laptop Keyboard Going; Quiet Demeanor

1440p HDR Only Available Non-Touch; Moderate Throttling Under Extended Load With Default Power Profile; Pricey

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen review: A peerless business ultraportable

Lenovo's flagship 14-inch ThinkPad X1 Carbon is now on its 6th generation. It heads up the company's range of business laptops, along with two newer kids on the X1 block: the convertible ThinkPad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen and the detachable ThinkPad X1 Tablet 3rd Gen .

Compact; light; solid build; Excellent keyboard; 8th-generation Intel Core processors; Screen option with Dolby Vision HDR; ThinkShutter privacy cover for camera

Disappointing speakers; No reduction in size and weight from previous generation; Noticeable screen bezels; Expensive

Very User Friendly

I bought this a couple of weeks ago to transfer my data from a PC and another laptop--so far everything has been fairly easy to transfer, just using a backup hard drive and thumb drive, so very pleased with my purchase.
