The best 14" business laptop out on the market currently. Very fast, very durable, and very portable. The down site is the battery which only last 2.5 hours, so make sure to pick up the bay drive battery.

Lenovo ThinkPad T420s
The battle for the lightest 14-inch business laptop is waged among a small handful of PC manufacturers, none more distinguished than Lenovo. The latest laptop in Lenovo's ThinkPad series of business laptops, the Lenovo ThinkPad T420s ($1,518 direct), is as masterfully engineered as it is incredibly...
Pros:
- One of the lightest 14-inch business laptops
- 1-inch thick with optical drive
- Optical drive can be substituted with an additional battery
- High screen resolution
- Tough as nails
- Phenomenal typing experience
- Excellent battery life
- Speedy
Cons:
- A backlit-keyboard would be nice

Once upon a time, end-user productivity was limited by the performance of mobile computers. But today's innovation is no longer driven by specs alone. Now, even the most basic notebooks provide enough horsepower for most business users, and the Lenovo ThinkPad T420s fits the bill.

Lenovo ThinkPad T420s Review
Lenovo's ThinkPad T420s is the business user's ultimate Goldilocks notebook. At 14.1 inches and 4 pounds, the laptop is extremely light and portable, but it's large enough to provide a generous high-res screen, a powerful processor, and a full-sized keyboard and touchpad.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T420s delivers better performance than its predecessor thanks to Intel's latest Core i5 platform, but the thin machine skimps on battery life.
Pros:
- Very thin and light
- Strong performance
- Durable design
- Very good audio reproduction
- Perfect keyboard
Cons:
- Poor battery life
- Mediocre graphics performance
- Narrow viewing angle for video
- Pricey

I haven?t tried removing the base of the T420s. It doesn?t have the convenient one piece removable base of the Dell. There is a cover for the memory, WiFi and WWAN or mSATA while the main storage device comes out at one side.
Pros:
- ThinkPad classic looks and build quality
- ThinkPad keyboard
- Light weight for display size
- Full feature set including USB 3.0
Cons:
- Uses 7mm storage devices
- Low capacity battery
- Most ports are at the back
- No backlit keyboard option
- Poor display for price range
