Not as advertised **PLEASE READ**

I received my ThinkPad in mid-August 2017. I purchased the what I believe is the minimum spec one with an Intel Celeron 38650U 1.80GHz, 4 gigs of RAM, 120 GB of storage, and Windows 10 Pro. Reading the review it looked like a reliable work computer with a sturdy frame. Boy was I wrong.

Lenovo Thinkpad 13 Review (2017): Cheap and mostly cheerful

Lenovo has released the second-generation version of its ThinkPad 13, a business ultrabook with the same no-nonsense style we've come to know and love. Unlike some ultrabooks, the ThinkPad 13 packs a bunch of ports that (most likely can) cover all of your workday needs, tossing other features on top...

Ample ports; Durable construction; Classic ThinkPad design; Long battery life; Fingerprint reader

Thick bezels; Bulky for an ultrabook; Dim display

The Lenovo ThinkPad 13 is well put together machine, but it isn't about flash. There isn't much to differentiate the ThinkPad 13 from other ultrabooks on the market when it comes design. In fact, the device is thicker than many of them.

Durable Design; Long lasting battery; Excellent Keyboard

Display is a bit dim; No Ethernet port

Still, with its ThinkPad keyboard, rugged shell, and excellent (if small) touch pad, the ThinkPad 13 could be an attractive choice for students and small-business buyers in stepped-up configurations, as well. Just choose your extras-and your timing-wisely.

Excellent keyboard; Low entry price; Very good battery life; ThinkPad "business rugged" features

Upgrades add up fast; Low-capacity; SATA-only SSD choices; Small touch pad; Low-res Webcam

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 2017 Review: Reliably Reliable

By all estimates, Windows 10 has done a lot to restore the public's confidence in the PC. At the very least, it's provided a stable platform for Microsoft's hardware partners to build great machines. Lenovo has certainly taken advantage of this opportunity.

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 (2017)

For a small business or sole proprietorship, you need a business laptop that offers durability, reliability, and staying power. The Lenovo ThinkPad 13 (starting at $699; $745.99 as tested) does that, and does so with a timeless style.

12+ hours of battery life; MIL-STD 801G rated; USB-C port; Best keyboard among SMB laptops

A bit pricey for an entry-level system; Ethernet connectivity requires an adapter

Thanks to its durable, lightweight design, snappy keyboard and plethora of ports, Lenovo's ThinkPad 13 is good for businesses, college students or anyone who wants a productivity machine that costs around $1,000 or less.
