Lenovo Miix 510

The Surface Pro 4 's combination of a solid OS in Windows 10 and elegant hardware made it the first tablet PC to live up to Microsoft's message that a tablet really could replace a laptop. So if you were going to design a 2-in-1 tablet, it would make sense to emulate one that works, right?

The good-looking hinged kickstand has a lot of positioning flexibility; Has a USB-C port for video output and peripherals with adapters; Unlike Microsoft, Lenovo includes a generally excellent backlit keyboard cover; Lenovo's Active Pen and palm rejection work very well

The fans can get a little too loud for quiet environments; No memory card slot for expansion; The Active Pen is a $40 extra and its included holder blocks the power jack; The tiny right-hand shift key is horrible

Lenovo Miix 510

The Miix 510 comes with an Intel Core i5-6200U processor with Intel HD Graphics 520. It was among our leaders on the PCMark 8 Work Conventional test (2,820 points), way ahead of tablets like the Acer Aspire Switch 11 V , the Huawei MateBook, and the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S .

Excellent benchmark performance; Includes backlit keyboard cover; Equipped with both USB 3.0 and USB-C ports

Active Pen costs extra; Occasional fan noise

Lenovo Miix 510 Pro 80U10006GE Convertible Review

A 2-in-1 following in the footsteps of the MS Surface Pro 4 will likely be compared to it. Lenovo's convertible features better connectivity and a better SSD, but the display and the cameras are lacking.

good keyboard; Type-A and Type-C USB; sturdy; upscale construction; option for LTE; usable main camera; good microphone

display not very vivid; PWM at and below 90 % brightness; fan always on during idle / when connected to power; no monitor-out; mediocre webcam; battery life not that great

A 2-in-1 that actually works well as both a tablet and a laptop, the Miix 510 is a detachable that genuinely lets you leave your full-size laptop at home.

Attractive looks; Nice; responsive touch display; Both Type-A and Type-C USB 3.0 ports

So-so battery life; Loud fans; A few quirks in the keyboard layout

Still, if you're looking to eek out a few extra minutes of battery life and want something more affordable than the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, than the Lenovo Miix 510 is a solid choice.

Attractive design; Strong performance; Affordable

Sensitive to light; Weak battery life

Lenovo Miix 510 Review

If you want a notebook with fast performance and a display that detaches, providing a great tablet to stream on, the Miix 510 is calling your name. Unfortunately, this machine's keyboard and battery life may test your patience.

The 2-in-1 form factor has gained a lot of prominence lately as the mobile workhorse of choice, thanks to its performance and portability. With advancements in technology, power consumptions are at record low levels, which allows laptop makers like Lenovo to come up with devices like the Lenovo...

Performance; Battery life

No card reader

Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 510 Review: The Bold & The Familiar

Microsoft was trying something new when it launched the Surface Pro. It had user data showing that people carried around both a laptop and a tablet, but whether anyone would embrace a device that wanted to be both was very unclear.

Great display, useless keyboard for touch typists

If you are like me and you use the shift key on the right side when you type, you will find that the design of this board will not work for you and you will need to replace it with a normal keyboard.

A good tablet for a computer professional who needs Windows.

This notebook/tablet hybrid has been just what I needed. The portability is great, it's quiet, powerful enough for both personal and basic work applications, and for a windows 10 computer it has given me no more problems than my high-end work laptop.
