Good
I've see better, more functional drive enclosures. The drive itself seems fine!
Pros:
- Quiet
- relatively easy installation on my Mac
- Working fine so far
Cons:
- The design is by no means anything to boast about, especially since it seems to have bumped the price up
- Restricted cooling ports
- Front, back and top are a piece channel aluminum
- The other three sides are plastic
- So much for "Solid aluminum casing"!

There are cheaper drives out there, (not much cheaper) but cannot see finding one with more character. Built by a fine company, easy to install, has included some nifty software, and all the space I could need. It is fast, pops right into my 3.0 USB port, and I'm off and running.

It works excellent but 4 stars because I wish it had the on off switch. It has the on off push button which I knew but when I turn my TV on it turns on and I don't want it to as I'm not using it. It's connected to my wd TV live so I only use it for all the movies on it.

Absolutely silent - plug and play straight out of the box - just had to reformat it for my Mac set up - took about 10mins from opening the box! Definitely recommend

Wonderful for Mac Computer backups
I have a Mac Computer and use this for my Time Machine Backup software that comes with the computer. You can also use the software that comes with the unit. It worked from the second I plugged it in my computer. Great price!

Disconnects, messes USB settings
I have two Seagate 2TB and a 1 TB Lacie hard drives connected by USB. These units run fine day in and day out. This 4TB keeps disconnecting under Win10, even though I have set so that Win10 does not ever power any USB port to save power. When the 4TB goes down it says the device malfunctioned.
