LG Optimus Sol pictures and hands-on

LG's newly announced light-flighting handset, the LG Optimus Sol, made an appearance over in Germany at IFA and Pocket-lint was on hand to get our grubby paws all over it. The handset, which was announced back in August (and will also go by the slightly duller LG-E730 name), runs Android 2.3.4 and...

LG Optimus Sol – the poor man's Optimus 2X has some nice specs – user review

There was a time when having a 1GHz processor in your smartphone was a pretty big deal, yet chips of such caliber are a pretty common sight even among mid-range handsets nowadays. Eye-catching display; Good in-call sound quality; Slim and lightweight

Boring design; Poor Adobe Flash handling

How Does the LG Optimus Sol E730 Fair against the GS II?

The Korean firm LG worked hard in 2011 to improve its market share in the mobile phone industry, and the LG Optimus Sol E730 was one such attempt. The mobile phone premiered in September and had to go head-to-head with Samsung's Galaxy S II, and that was just unlucky timing.

LG Optimus Sol E-730 Review

What the Optimus Sol brings to the table is a competent mid-range Android smartphone. Straightaway, we have to pick a fault. No, it isn't anything major - we think the Sol looks a bit bland. Bland we say because the plain-Jane looks are now a bit previous generation.

Very bright Ultra AMOLED display; Good performance; Built well

Battery life disappoints; Looks very bland

How many Optimus' does it take to fix an LG? LG has been far from impressive when it comes to smartphones and LG Chocolate (released in 2009) was the last models that created the slightest stir in the market.

The Optimus Sol is both smart and slim with a powerful combination of style and performance for a fashionable smartphone experience. Brilliantly bright with a 3.8" Ultra AMOLED Display, it delivers two times the clarity in heavy sunlight outdoors.

Great device with a brilliant display; very lightweight and fun to use. Times have changed and even mid-range smartphones today offer great features for a very reasonable price. The LG Optimus Sol E730 is one such mid range Android smartphone that comes with good quality and attractive features.

Looks; Build quality; Speedy operation; Lightweight

No ICS; No flash for camera
