Editor's Review of the Optimus 7

It's almost hard to review Windows Phone 7 handsets as they all appear so similar, but LG have thankfully managed to differentiate themselves. With LG's added extras onboard we felt like we were getting a more personalized experience, and despite its chunkiness, it stands out as one of the best...

Great phone!

I love my Optimus 7! It fits really nice in your hand and it has really nice build quality! The 3.8" capacative touch screen is really nice with the Gorilla Glass which makes it very scratch resistant. Maybe the LCD display isn't as good as the S-AMOLED on the Focus and Omnia but I really like it!
Pros:
  • Really nice build quality
  • Nice new WP7 OS
  • Gorilla Glass
  • Fast
  • Average camera quality
  • Play To (DLNA
  • Xbox LIVE
Cons:
  • The camera could be better in the dark
  • The LCD screen isn't as good as the Focus or Omnia

LG Optimus 7 review: LG Optimus 7

It may not have an AMOLED screen or a QWERTY keyboard, but the Optimus 7 is our pick of the Windows Phone range so far. It's the complete package of design, features and usability that sets it apart. On paper the Optimus 7 doesn't seem to stack up well against the Windows Phone 7 (WP7) competition. It reads like its Windows Phone sibling, the Optimus 7Q, minus the Q's slideout QWERTY keyboard, and it is, after all, made by LG, a company not renowned for making excellent top-shelf devices. But we urge you to read on, in the melee of five new WP7 phones reviewed simultaneously, the Optimus 7 has earned its place at the top of this list.
Pros:
  • Excellent handset design with attention to detail. Mechanical navigation keys. Good LCD display. 16GB on-board storage.
Cons:
  • Some limitations of the WP7 OS.

LG Optimus 7 E900 review

LG has done a great job with the LG Optimus 7 E900. It's an attractive smartphone that's a pleasure to use, isn't so large as to be unwieldy, and is powerful enough to last a day or two between charges.

Brilliantly underpriced phone.

I'd just like to say a few things about this phone, i've previousl been a windows phone user for the last 6 years, from windows 5.0 to 6.1 with a very brief stint of using 6.5. Inititally I was unimpressed with the new interface, although, after getting used to it I very much like it, theres some...

Great product! Love this phone...

My first smartphone, so glad I went with the LG Optimus. This phone is well made and so easy to use. I like the Win7 software, pictures are very sharp and look very clear on screen. The voice clarity and quality is very good and I have not dropped any calls while traveling.

Great phone - watch this space

I have a BlackBerry and an iPad and used to have an Android, so I know what other devices are like to use. The Windows Phone 7.5 knocks spots off all the others. After receiving mine with 7.0 I plugged into Zune and let it update flawlessly to 7.5 (unlike my iPad, which bricked on updating to iOS...
