The non-glare screen, size and weight were wonderful. However, the display is in shades of grey (no colour) which was disappointing. The browser is terrible but, then, why would it be anything else when it's in shades of grey.

Paper books have a charm that their digital equivalents have never quite managed to match. As book collectors will no doubt tell you, an ebook reader cannot replicate the fresh smell of a new book, or recreate the feel of high quality paper.
; Really light; Excellent battery life; Great screen; Nice case; Doesn't offer enough additional features to justify its price

While it's a solid e-reader, as all Kindles are, the $289 price for the Oasis left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. It does offer a super-bright backlight on an anti-glare screen, which complements the company's best-in-class content and great parental controls.
Even and bright light; Best-in-class content selection; Unique design with physical buttons; Intuitive interface
Expensive; Browser still awful
Reading on the Oasis is sublime. Simply tap the right or left side of the screen to turn pages, as you would on any other touch-screen Kindle. You can also use the physical Page Turn buttons on the side, which I found to be perfectly situated beneath my thumb.
Sharp, bright screen; Long battery life extended by leather charging cover; Ergonomic design; Built-in accelerometer; Vast ebook store
Expensive; Not waterproof; Cover doesn't protect entire reader
The Kindle Oasis is the best, and sexiest, ebook reader that money can buy – Period.
Super slim and beautiful screen; Wide selection of books; Includes leather battery cover; Excellent page-turn buttons; 2-month battery life
Expensive for an ebook reader; You must buy your books from Amazon; It's still not waterproof
With its sublime design, bright screen, and innovative battery cover, the Oasis is the best e-book reader we've used to date, but the price is awfully high for incremental improvements-and Special Offers still lurk.
Comfortable form factor; with excellent physical page-turn buttons; Bright; sharp display; Mature software and excellent ecosystem; between Amazon's store and other supported formats
Flat-out expensive; Still saddled with Kindle Special Offers; which cost $20 to remove; No support for audiobook playback
The Kindle Oasis is the most luxurious, high-end e-reader ever made by Amazon. It's ridiculously thin, weighs very little and is a pleasure to use. In addition, it's supplied with a clever leather case into which the device slots, which not only provides protection for your e-reader, but also an...
Included leather case is great; Fantastic display; Gorgeous looks
That price..; No adaptive front light
There's a lot to love about the Kindle Oasis, even if many of the core features are available on the significantly cheaper Kindle Paperwhite. But that's missing the point – and if you've got this far we'd bet that won't bother you.
Expensive; 3G version is even more; Needs more case choices

The Amazon Kindle has been fairly predictable over the past few years, walking a path from button-laden ebook reader at its 2007 launch , all the way through to the ultra-refined and ultra-simple Paperwhite and Voyage generation. The Kindle exists for one reason and that's to read books.
Light weight design; fast page turns; great battery cover; lovely even lighting; premium feel
Price; no adaptive front light
The Kindle Oasis is a wonderful ereader and is a pleasure to use. Its asymmetrical design is the biggest jump forward for any Kindle yet. But that doesn't make it worth £270. The Kindle Paperwhite costs less than half that and is still an excellent ereader with a great screen.
Screen works well in all light conditions; excellent design; great selection of ebooks in Kindle Store
expensive; cover slightly ruins the e-reader's balance; not waterproof
