This mouse pad is on the smaller size but is nice and thin at only about 1mm thick which was what I was looking for. My optical mouse works well on it even with small mouse movements. The upper surface has a small amount of texture which generates a light vibration between the foot pads on the mouse and the surface of the pad...noticeable but not really a major issue. I have found the underside (desk side) of the mouse pad to be a little bit slippery which results in the mouse pad creeping across the desk sometimes...might just be my desk surface???

I've got three of them and have used them for years. They are nice and thin, rather than being that awful neoprene stuff which gradually disintegrates. They get much on them from the mouse, like any surface. But: Easy to clean and durable. A must-have!
