Just Cause 3

Never underestimate how much a good explosion can make up for other shortcomings. Sure, a fiery explosion in the real world is typically a horrible, destructive event, but in movies and games, explosions are pretty much a requirement these days.

Pretty graphics; fun with physics (explosive style); lots of freedom to figure out how to wreak things; lots of explosions

Long load times; annoying syncing issues with the Square Enix service; forced to play challenges to unlock you're your destructive potential

Just Cause 3 PC Review

When Just Cause 2 released back in 2010 it came with a wave of excitement, as the sequel was much improved over the original title and made the series be noticed. The second instalment took the concept from the original game and – with the extra power from that generation – tuned it for the better...

Just Cause 3 Review – Things That Make You Go Boom (PS4)

As previously mentioned, this game really isn't played for the story, and there's barely one present. The story is essentially there to give both Rico and the player a reason to find the most creative ways possible to killing soldiers and taking down bases.

Explosions; Optional challenges for optional upgrades; Hilarious dialogue; Finding new ways to tether people; cars; helicopters; and gas stations to make bigger explosions never gets old

Abysmally long load times; Not everyone will like the repetitive liberation; Story isn't deep; Gameplay isn't deep

Brilliant service!

Pre-ordered this at a very good price, the game came almost 4 days early! Was very happy indeed, would definitely use again!

Just Cause 3

Good game enjoyed it, but repeated the same type of mission over and over again.

Just Cause 3

A chaotic action romp, tragically let down by repetition and padding. There's fun to be had, but all too little variety in its huge open world.

Beautiful; varied environment; Great tools for destruction and traversal; The explosions look amazing

Too much repetition of objectives; Basic features hidden behind unlock system; An overreliance on gunplay

Just Cause 3 Review – Delicious Destructible Violence Overshadows Framerate Troubles

Just Cause 3 has the unenviable task of coming out at the end of the year to capitalize on the Christmas rush. Normally, this is a wonderful time for a big name AAA release. Unfortunately, Just Cause 3 is following up some of the biggest titles that are out there with a new Fallout, a new Black Ops,...

Huge open world map; Explosive fun; Off the wall and wonderfully over the top

Horrendous load times; Occasional frame rate drop; Liberation missions are repetitive

Just Cause 3 Review

Watch my full video review embedded above If you're unfamiliar with the series, Just Cause follows a CIA operative by the name of Rico who... you know what, it doesn't matter, because story has never mattered in Just Cause.

It's good for what it is - a random playground where you blow stuff up. Better title for it would have been "Just Because 3", as the meat of the game is destruction and doing random things in a sandbox "just because". However, if you're looking for a game of substance, this isn't the one for you.

Just Cause 3

Imagine a roller coaster that stops for maintenance every 30 feet and doesn't allow you to exit, even after you've already been around the track a few dozen times. Just Cause 3 fails you seconds after you pop the disc in.
