Just Cause 2 was a welcome surprise that came out of nowhere and hooked me from the very beginning. Not only did I savor the open-ended gameplay, but I also invested many, many hours that had absolutely nothing to do with mission goals. Simply put, the game was a blast to play.

As previously mentioned, this game really isn't played for the story, and there's barely one present. The story is essentially there to give both Rico and the player a reason to find the most creative ways possible to killing soldiers and taking down bases.

Ok, so a lot of games promise this, but it is rare that any deliver. In the past, the Just Cause series seemed to be one of the successful ones.
