The pine-scented countryside is pockmarked with deserted science stations. Ivy grows over warehouses and brutalist concrete buildings. Military structures-satellite dishes, radio towers, and fuel tanks-nestle in the hills. Every vehicle is military owned and operated.

Just Cause 3 PC Review

When Just Cause 2 released back in 2010 it came with a wave of excitement, as the sequel was much improved over the original title and made the series be noticed. The second instalment took the concept from the original game and – with the extra power from that generation – tuned it for the better...

Just Cause 3 Review

Just Cause 3 is one of the best open world games of 2015. Avalanche Studios gives players endless possibilities in this sequel that one-ups its predecessor in nearly every way. While it's not quite as well-rounded as it could be with mundane driving and shooting segments, its destructive aspects and...

Just Cause 3 review – Michael Bay: The Game

The core action is explosively silly in all the best ways, but the controls, missions, and story structure are all disappointingly underdeveloped.

The combination of grappling hook, parachute, and wingsuit works great, and messing around in the open world can be enormous fun; Some of the best explosions in gaming

The missions and story are horribly uninteresting; Poor controls and gunplay when on foot; Weird upgrade system and lots of bugs and glitches at launch

Just Cause 3 Review

Just Cause 2 was a welcome surprise that came out of nowhere and hooked me from the very beginning. Not only did I savor the open-ended gameplay, but I also invested many, many hours that had absolutely nothing to do with mission goals. Simply put, the game was a blast to play.

Unparalleled destruction; Awesome set of gameplay tools; Huge selection of weapons and vehicles; Mods enhance gameplay; Realistic physics

Annoying DRM; Forgettable story; Inconsistent framerate; Limited AI; Tags

Just Cause 3 Review – Things That Make You Go Boom (PS4)

As previously mentioned, this game really isn't played for the story, and there's barely one present. The story is essentially there to give both Rico and the player a reason to find the most creative ways possible to killing soldiers and taking down bases.

Explosions; Optional challenges for optional upgrades; Hilarious dialogue; Finding new ways to tether people; cars; helicopters; and gas stations to make bigger explosions never gets old

Abysmally long load times; Not everyone will like the repetitive liberation; Story isn't deep; Gameplay isn't deep

Just Cause 3 Review

Every now and then a game promises to be an action-packed thrill ride filled with so many explosions and bullets that your head may implode at any moment. Ok, so a lot of games promise this, but it is rare that any deliver. In the past, the Just Cause series seemed to be one of the successful ones.

Loads of destruction; Creative ways to cause chaos; A pyromaniac's dream

Hit and miss visuals; Clunky controls; Loading times will use up a third of your conscious lifeâ€

Just have some fun - Just Cause 3 review

One series that has always known how to have fun is Just Cause. With the first game, developer Avalanche Studios seemed to have a clear vision, but its execution was severely lacking.

Good weapon variety; Characters can bring about some laughs; Explosions; explosions everywhere; Challenges are fun to delve into

Infrequently severe frame rate and loading issues; Mission design leaves a little to be desired
