BlueParrott B550-XT Review

We like the BlueParrott C400-XT, but find it uncomfortable over long listening periods. The $199.99 BlueParrott B550-XT addresses this, for a significantly higher price. Mic clarity remains top-notch, with built-in noise cancellation for loud environments, and the fit is far more comfortable. The real selling point here is the earpiece itself, which blocks out ambient sound. The B550-XT is billed as a voice-controlled headset, and while it's a bit limited in terms of what you can do in that regard, you can still access your phone's voice assistant. If you need a Bluetooth headset you can hear over the roar of a truck or another noisy job, it's a solid option. Design and Usage The 5.8-ounce B550-XT has a somewhat chunky build, but feels light and comfortable. Good but not 100% loud noise cancelling

I have been using a pair of Plantronic 4210 headphones for voice recognition dictation software, and have changed to the Blue Parrot ones, which are definitely better. They aren't as affected by background low level noise. However, loud noises nearby still block my dictation. They were advertised as being used on factory floors... might be the case if making a phone call, but definitely not the case for dictation software... the hoover going in the same room makes them inoperable and the kids shouting in the hall still gets picked up!
