After reading numerous reviews on the JBL Pulse 2 vs the Bose mini, I decided to get the JBL. I have no regrets, it has exceeded my expectations!

Love it! great sound and the light show is impressive. Everyone who saw it were very impressed . The battery last much longer when the sound level is kept to mid range.
Music quality is not bad, even good. But if you are an obsessive type (like me), do not use it, because the little holes get clogged and you will never able to remove the dirt. The Lightshow turns to irritation show.
JBL's Pulse 2 is a splash-proof Bluetooth speaker with a cylindrical design and a price of $199.95. That's not entirely unique (check out the Ultimate Ears UE Boom 2 to see what I mean).
Powerful audio performance for the size, with full bass response and solid balance; Intriguing multicolored LED light show reacts to your music's tempo; Splash-proof design; Built-in speakerphone
Low on accessories; Digital signal processing is not for everyone; Could use more high frequency presence
This compares easily to higher priced units and even outperforms some of the higher priced JBL products. The high, mid, and bottom end are distinct and clear. Best placed on a table by a wall as has passive radiators that will reflect the bottom end better.

I'm not sure why but my speaker came from Amazon when I ordered it from Walmart.

That's not entirely unique (check out the Ultimate Ears UE Boom 2 ($149.99 at Amazon) to see what I mean). What makes the Pulse 2 stand out is the dazzling LED light show it performs beneath—and projects onto—its metallic grille surface. It may be a gimmick, but it's a pretty cool one. As for audio quality, the Pulse 2 improves on the bass response of its predecessor, the Pulse ( at Amazon) , by adding passive radiators that do a decent job of beefing up the low-end. The audio is crisp, full, and doesn't distort. DesignThe Pulse 2 ($259.94 at Amazon) , with no light show running, resembles plenty of portable Bluetooth speakers out there. Its 7.6-by-3.3-inch (HW), 1.7-pound cylindrical design houses drivers and an LED system beneath the nearly 360-degree splash-proof grille. Passive bass radiators are located on the top and bottom panels of the speaker. A narrow control panel is wha...
The JBL Pulse 2 separates itself from the crowded portable Bluetooth speaker field with a dazzling LED light show, and it also provides a solid audio experience.

Compact portable Bluetooth speakers tend to be fairly similar these days, which is why a speaker like JBL's Pulse 2 is refreshing. Not only does it offer very good sound for its size, but it has the added value of offering a very cool "interactive" light show thanks to its built-in LED lights.
The JBL Pulse 2 is a compact splashproof wireless Bluetooth speaker that delivers strong sound for its size and distinguishes itself with an integrated light show that's far improved from the original model.
There's no carrying case included
With all the lighting options one could hope for, the Pulse 2 LED Bluetooth portable speaker certainly carries the sound quality to suit the JBL name.
