JBL's Pulse 2 is a splash-proof Bluetooth speaker with a cylindrical design and a price of $199.95. That's not entirely unique (check out the Ultimate Ears UE Boom 2 to see what I mean).
Powerful audio performance for the size, with full bass response and solid balance; Intriguing multicolored LED light show reacts to your music's tempo; Splash-proof design; Built-in speakerphone
Low on accessories; Digital signal processing is not for everyone; Could use more high frequency presence
JBL's Pulse 2 is a splash-proof Bluetooth speaker with a cylindrical design and a price of $199.95. That's not entirely unique (check out the Ultimate Ears UE Boom 2 ($149.99 at Amazon) to see what I mean). What makes the Pulse 2 stand out is the dazzling LED light show it performs beneath—and projects onto—its metallic grille surface. It may be a gimmick, but it's a pretty cool one. As for audio quality, the Pulse 2 improves on the bass response of its predecessor, the Pulse ( at Amazon) , by adding passive radiators that do a decent job of beefing up the low-end. The audio is crisp, full, and doesn't distort. DesignThe Pulse 2 ($259.94 at Amazon) , with no light show running, resembles plenty of portable Bluetooth speakers out there. Its 7.6-by-3.3-inch (HW), 1.7-pound cylindrical design houses drivers and an LED system beneath the nearly 360-degree splash-proof grille. Passive bass radiators are located on the top and bottom panels of the speaker. A narrow control panel is wha...
The JBL Pulse 2 separates itself from the crowded portable Bluetooth speaker field with a dazzling LED light show, and it also provides a solid audio experience.

I purchased this product for Christmas myself. I love it, and here are the pros and cons for the speaker: Pros: -Amazing sound quality, better than the original since it has the two bass radiators on the side (it's really fun when you put water on top of the bass radiator and see the water...
There's no shortage of options for portable Bluetooth speakers these days, and they're available at a number of price points depending on build and sound quality. Some companies are getting creative with extra features, and JBL is no exception.
Great sound and battery life; light show is fun
JBL Prism Color Sensor feature is hit and miss; Light show doesn't seem to really sync to the music
You can't beat this speaker for value for money. The sound is outstanding, it has a sufficient amount of gadget credibility (colour sensor) & is a lovely size making it portable.
A couple years back, we tested the JBL Pulse. At the time, it was competing with a spate of cylindrical portable Bluetooth speakers like the UE Boom and the Beats Pill. To us, it stacked up really well - the audio quality was a bit uneven, but one of the best we'd encountered in its size range.
LED light show looks fluid and is super unique; excellent balanced audio; good volume; vastly improved battery life over the original; splashproof
JBL Prism feature can struggle with darker colors; no equalizer mode; can't change colors manually; bass response still a little weak
Compact portable Bluetooth speakers tend to be fairly similar these days, which is why a speaker like JBL's Pulse 2 is refreshing. Not only does it offer very good sound for its size, but it has the added value of offering a very cool "interactive" light show thanks to its built-in LED lights.
The JBL Pulse 2 is a compact splashproof wireless Bluetooth speaker that delivers strong sound for its size and distinguishes itself with an integrated light show that's far improved from the original model.
There's no carrying case included
Excellent item, but beware of price. This item is being sold on ebay from$120.00 to $150.00 Don't buy this item as hsn is vcharging full retail for this
With all the lighting options one could hope for, the Pulse 2 LED Bluetooth portable speaker certainly carries the sound quality to suit the JBL name.
