Upgraded from my i7 7700 (due to getting a 3070) and this cpu really packs a punch for its money. Will do anything you can throw at it and more. If you already have a good cooler for your older LGA115x you might as well save yours self a few bucks and get this along with the b460 aorus pro ac board. Really cant bet the value for money you are getting.

Decided to upgrade motherboard and CPU after an alarming overheating experience with my older 4 Core i7. The i9 with 10 Cores and 20 Threads seemed a suitable upgrade. All went well with the installation and I was up and running again in no time. This variant comes with its own cpu fan unit but I discarded that for a something with a bit more grunt. Overall, been up and running now for about a fortnight and I'm happy to say this experience is much improved over its 4 core predecessor. Highly recommended.
