Fantastic processor, but do NOT use the stock cooler. It cannot cool sufficiently, and thus the cooler runs at high speed ALL the time, creating a ridiculous level of noise. Be prepared to buy a decent aftermarket cooler.

Good value upgrade Dec 2020 of an i7-2600 system that I bought secondhand in 2015. I use this for indie film editing including 3D artwork. I did the same render before and after; 21 minutes on the old i7-2600 and 7 minutes on this new i7-10700. I bought a Cryorig M9i tower cooler to go with this and I recommend that. Doing my maximum demand of rendering full-on including time at 100 percent, it runs at 65 degrees. I think Cryorig is enabling "Turbo" to kick in more generously than I expected because I am seeing speeds of 4.4 to 4.6 GHz and power at 85W with peaks over 100W. Small criticism, not enough to lose a star, of the instructions and...view more
