I am satisfied overall with i5s over i7s, as I did my wife's previous build with a 6th gen i5. The specs sheet says Hyperthreading is supported, as well as my new motherboard (MSI B360M Mortar), however the BIOS says it's not available I may come back and amend my rating if I figure it later.

Really good cpu for gaming big upgrade over my i3 6100. Paired with my 1060 6gb it's a beast runs 1080p at ultra settings 60fps. However, the stock cooler you get is a look annoying and loud. It buzzes and has done my head in so much over the past few days that I've ordered a new cooler.

fast gaming chip
Got this for $179.99 with a SSD, evga 1060 and 16gb ram and it runs like a complete dream. All games have been played flawlessly and system is very responsive im very happy with my purchase. I bought this in one of their stores in Chicago. I do not overclock so this was the obvious choice for me.

I got this as part of a upgrade combo, I'm very impressed with the speed increase over the old i7.

Intel Core i5-8400 : Six Cores On A Budget
There's no doubt that AMD's Ryzen processors challenged Intel's position in the desktop PC market this summer. Seemingly in response (though we all know this stuff is planned way in advance), the Coffee Lake-based Core i7 and i5 CPUs landed with six cores each.
