Injustice: Gods Among Us

"...the bombastic super attacks are the epitome of crowd-pleasing." "No matter your playstyle, you'll find someone to love in Injustice." "The star of the show is the game's story mode...

Incredible roster and story mode; Smooth online play; Fan-service aplenty

Some spam-heavy characters; Controls initially feel rigid; Costumes suffer from DLC overkill

Injustice: Gods Among Us learns a lot from the last Mortal Kombat game, but it's not a simple clone of the developer's past work. Its unique fighting system, deep move lists, and practice options give you something to learn and places to learn it.

Injustice: Gods Among Us

Thanks to the team behind Mortal Kombat, Netherrealm Studios, I finally get the chance. Gods Amongst Us provides us with a fighting roster crammed with all the heavy hitters of the DC Universe - Superman, Batman - alongside several lesser known characters that have populated the comics over the...

Injustice provides a complex fighter with some unique twists, but is found wanting in features that have become commonplace in its contemporaries.

When it comes to superheroes-turned-street fighters, DC Comics' stable of superfriends have always received the short end of the stick. While Marvel enjoys the steady success of Capcom's legendary Vs. series, the likes of Justice League Task Force and Mortal Kombat vs.

Brutal presentation makes you feel powerful, New mechanics build upon Mortal Kombat's foundation in creative ways, S.T.A.R; Labs missions are a fun distraction

Minimal educational tools; Disappointingly dull story; Lacks replay support

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, the 2008 fighting game released by NetherRealm and Midway, was a flawed experience that toned down Mortal Kombat's gory nature and didn't give enough room to the different heroes and villains of the DC Comics universe .

Injustice: Gods Among Us Review (PS3)

Before 2011's successful reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise, the developers at NetherRealm Studios (then called Midway Games Chicago), tried their hand at a Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe cross-over.

Lengthy; cinematic story told through each character; Combat is just so good; and deep; Tons of content that will keep you busy for days; Each character's playstyle is truly unique; Great to see a different side of iconic characters like Superman; Mortal Kombat

Not the prettiest game I've seen; Blocking takes some serious getting used to; Too many similarities to Mortal Kombat; But yet; something's missing..

Injustice: Gods Among Us Review

Injustice: Gods Among Us might just be the best story ever told in the fighting game space. That's not really a bold statement though, when you consider some of the ludicrous stories that have been tacked onto fighting games of the past, but with its comic book foundation and established characters...

Injustice: Gods Among Us review

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a game for comic fans. It tells an intriguing DC story first, across alternate universes where roles are reversed, and is a fighting game second -- whereas most games in the genre take the opposite approach.

+ Awesome story; + Brutal combat; + DC fan service; + Superman v Batman

- Wagers suck; - Minor control issues; - Heavy characters are rubbish

Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us (Sony PlayStation 3)

For a long time, the Mortal Kombat games were the red headed stepchild of the fighting game genre. Generally poo-pooed in terms of gameplay and balance compared to franchises like Street Fighter and The King of Fighters , Mortal Kombat still had a strong but loyal fanbase.
