OnePlus 5T review
The OnePlus 5T isn’t a surprise, both in its existence and the fact it’s very similar to the OnePlus 5. It stands as a reminder that 2017 was the year every company quickly produced a phone with an 18:9 display to make sure its bezels didn’t look outdated on the store shelf. But OnePlus isn’t on many store shelves given its online retail approach, and its many vocal core fans who bought the 5 will be annoyed by the 5T. OnePlus needed to update its design language quickly to keep up with the wider market where it is yet to make a dent, and the 5T is overall a better device than the 5. And let's not forget that for £449, the OnePlus 5T is an exceptionally well rounded smartphone. It is at least £100 cheaper than similar handsets, and sometimes close to £300 less. If you buy into the design (without waterproofing and wireless charging) and price but can accept that the camera isn't top draw and it’ll probably be superseded in six months, then it’s a great choice.
OnePlus 5T Review: Say Hello to the Phone Bargain of the Year
Many people interested in the OnePlus 5T, reading this review, and pouring over the spec sheet will ask "where's the catch?" To be fair, OnePlus' latest doesn't reach perfect feature parity with every high-end handset.- Beautiful Screen
- Blistering performance
- Great battery life
- Flagship-caliber cameras
- Very fast charging: Amazing value
- No wireless charging or microSD slot
- Lacks optical zoom
- Not water resistant
OnePlus 5T review
The 5T is a slick improvement on an already slick phone, with useful extras in addition to that eye-catching screen. It’s still very much a handset made to a budget, which becomes clear when you stick it next to a more expensive rival - there’s no waterproofing, wireless charging, or expandable storage, and as much as we prefer metal for its sturdiness, glass is most definitely in right now. The mere six month turnover between phones might sting a bit if you recently sprung for a OnePlus 5, too. We've been criticising Sony for doing the same for years, so it's only fair to give OnePlus some stick too. Really though, the price is what should make the 5T a winner. You’re getting a more modern screen, slicker camera and smart bonuses like facial recognition, for the same price as the old phone - that’s half the price of an Apple or Google handset.- 18:9 aspect screen brings it bang up to date
- Slight camera improvements
- Same great performance & battery life
- No waterproofing, wireless charging
- Camera quality still middle of the pack
- A bit too soon?
Great phone up and coming make
Great phone new module coming out and think will be one of top phones 2018
OnePlus 5T review: The best smartphone under Rs 35,000 in India
After using the phone for three weeks, it's easy to conclude, that the OnePlus 5T is now a proper flagship.
In comparison with OnePlus 5, the 5T is slightly better with more modern features. It runs smoothly without troubling to kill the app running at the background. You can click quality shots in daylight and even in low light. It's a perfect choice, right now, at this price segment.
- Sharp screen
- good battery
- performance
- camera
- Running on old Android N and Android 8.0 update will take months
OnePlus 5 was a very well received smartphone, and certainly one of the best that we saw this year. To keep the ball rolling and to keep the 5 relevant for a few more months, OnePlus is out with a mid-cycle hardware upgrade, the 5T, that further refines the premium mid-range experience and justifies...
To conclude, the OnePlus 5T is certainly one of the fastest Android smartphones of 2017 and it does come with a premium look and display. The performance is top notch and Dash charge is a real saviour. But when it comes to the camera, the phone struggles.
- Performance
- Battery
- Display
- Camera
- Face Unlock
Huawei P10 review
The Huawei P10 is an impressive beast – it's gorgeous, powerful and the dual cameras are a huge improvement over the 2016 flagship, the P9. Portrait mode works better than expected, photos are crisp, vibrant and detailed and even the selfie camera has had a meaningful upgrade.
OnePlus 5T review: A $500 mid-range phone with the heart of a $900 flagship
With a 6-inch display and thinner bezels, the OnePlus 5T is nearly as good as the premium crop of Android phones, but for hundreds less.- Display upgrade brings it in line with premium Android phones
- Chip and battery life are simply stellar
- OxygenOS is nearly as good as stock Android
- Camera is better
- but the loss of a telephoto lens is a bummer
- No expandable storage
- water resistance
- or wireless charging
