PlayStation 4 Horizon Zero Dawn 9833659 review

While I wouldn't go so far as to say Horizon Zero Dawn is the best open-world action-RPG I've ever played, it is quite memorable. You'll follow tribeswoman Aloy evolve from a young, naive exile into a battle-hardened savior capable of both fighting off the hostile and dangerous robotic beasts strewn...

5 star game

My husband and I bought this when it first came out and I could not out it down, the story was so compelling and amazing that I sacrificed my sleep schedule to play! Then with the frozen wilds dlc adding more difficulty...it was just all great. The story gave me goosebumps. Must buy!

Horizon Zero Dawn is disappointing. It has a story that I struggled to care about (complete with massive expository dumps-yay), a bland protagonist, and overtly repetitive and constraining missions that worked against its open world sensibilities.

Horizon Zero Dawn review

Horizon Zero Dawn is a work of considerable finesse and technical bravado, but it falls into the trap of past Guerrilla games in being all too forgettable. For all its skin-deep dynamism it lacks spark; somewhat like the robotic dinosaurs that stalk its arrestingly beautiful open world, this is a...

Horizon Zero Dawn violates the Hippocratic Oath of game design

Horizon: Zero Dawn is far better than it should be, given that it's the developer's Guerilla Games' first time making an open-world game. Previously, Sony has shackled these guys to whatever Playstation is currently missing its Halo. Hence the long line of Playstation-exclusive Killzones.

Beautiful, intriguing story, great combat

I finished God of War and had a hole in my video game soul. $20 for the HZD complete edition seemed like a good weekend's worth of entertainment. I'm still at it, replaying New Game+ after 100%ing the game and expansion pack. There are a million in depth reviews, but for me the combat stood out.

Horizon Zero Dawn review: Beautiful, ambitious, derivative

Horizon Zero Dawn presents an aesthetically pleasing and inventive world with personality aplenty, but it's not without narrative weaknesses

Review: Horizon Zero Dawn suffers from style over substance

The world of Horizon Zero Dawn is full of promise. From mountainous tribal villages to clusters of long-decayed skyscrapers, through to mechanical caverns measureless to man, the environment of Guerrilla Games' open-world adventure is one that urges exploration.

Dino-might

A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.
