Horizon: Zero Dawn Review

For the first 20% of Horizon: Zero Dawn the game felt to me like a Far Cry game. Not Far Cry Primal, because Horizon didn't omit dinosaurs in some ludicrous effort to pander to the concept of realism.

During the first 5 or so hours of Horizon Zero Dawn , I was drawn in but not necessarily captivated. The game felt solid as an iron forged spear, but the magic wasn't there that would cement this title into the upper echelon of games I hold dear. However, time has a habit of proving people wrong.

Incredible storyline and narrative | Huge open world | Jaw-dropping visuals and art design | Strong protagonist and supporting cast | Great voice work | Combat is frantic; varied and engaging | Environmental storytelling is fantastic

UI can be overbearing | Open-world has a lot of "traditional" activities that are sometimes a bore | Soundtrack is a bit lacking in certain places

For thirteen years, Guerrilla Games have been tied to the Killzone IP. I'll never hide the fact that I'm not a fan of Killzone. It also left me with a perception of Guerrilla that was all wrong. I'd come to believe they couldn't make anything other than a generic FPS.

Incredibly well realized open world with a host of meaningful content; Aloy is one of the best characters in gaming with an excellent story; outstanding personality and perfect growth; One of the best looking games to date; showing exactly what the PS4 can handle

Some side characters are just sat in the uncanny valley and could have done with a little extra work

Horizon Zero Dawn takes place on Earth millions of years in the future where, as you guessed it, some or other cataclysmic event has wiped out most of humanity. Out of the ashes, new civilisations and tribes sprung up, each with their own unique culture.

PlayStation 4 Horizon Zero Dawn 9833659 review

Horizon Zero Dawn review – an epic adventure A few blockbuster debuts throughout gaming history have had a surreal, uncanny power to them. You know it when you feel it: a certain magnetism pulling you in, that can’t-stop-thinking-about-it quality.

Horizon Zero Dawn Review

Across a vast and beautiful open world, Zero Dawn juggles many moving parts with polish and finesse. Its main activity - combat - is extremely satisfying thanks to the varied design and behaviors of machine-creatures that roam its lands, each of which needs to be taken down with careful...

Horizon Zero Dawn: My 2017 Golden Game.

I'm going to write this review in a similar layout that is used in G.I magazines. The Good: Horizon zero dawn is an amazing game, with massively open world free roam with a good fast travel system, beautiful environment, amazing story, and very containable controls.

Horizon: Zero Dawn

Can you recall the time when Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was originally released? Developer Naughty Dog had up until that point proven themselves time and time again with Crash Bandicoot and the Jak & Daxter series, but it was obvious to anyone from the onset that this was in a class of its own, a...

Horizon Zero Dawn Review – Satisfyingly Beautiful

When considering Horizon Zero Dawn is developed by Guerrilla Games, it'd be easy to make the assumption that it's a linear game set in an incredibly dark universe, with the gameplay focused on delivering as many bullets into enemies as humanly possible.
