HTC promised to release less smartphones in 2012 than it has in previous years, but the company still seems as active as ever. Its latest release is the Desire X, which aims to bring a distinctive style to the pre-paid market.

12 months ago, HTC pledged to slim down its product offerings and only focus on hero handsets. Despite that promise, the handset maker seems to be camping on most of the alphabet for its current set of products. One of them is a top-end pre-paid handset: the HTC Desire X.

The Desire X is a solid mid-range smartphone – it's not particularly spectacular in any area (except perhaps battery life), but it's not downright bad either. When it comes to buying time, we suspect that the ultimate decider will be the price.

This is my first smartphone and after a week of getting familiar and adding apps I am really enjoying it. While it is a budget entry level Android it is meeting all my needs and more.

Thrilled to finally have an HTC Desire –X. All this while I have been waiting to get a fully loaded Smartphone that would fit in my budget. Now I can watch videos & hear my favorite music on the go, capture good moments of my life and stay connected with my friends all at the same time.

When HTC came up with its original Desire in 2010 it had a smartphone watershed moment. The handset was quite lovely. I carried on using mine well past its sell-by date simply because it was nicely designed and its optical trackpad was so clever. I know people who still use the phone.

few days back i was deciding to buy a mid range android phone, i had to choose between Galaxy S Duos, Desire X and Xperia J. finally i preferred Galaxy S Duos. main reason not buy xperia was that it was too laggy and for HTC DesireX was that it is not up gradable to Jelly Bean.

Good spec android set, very thin and light. Set up is pretty simple, had to fiddle about with router config to get it linked to wifi but no real hassle. Good phone all round.
