HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Laser Multifunction Printer
The Bottom Line For a bare-bones laser printer--no wireless, no automatic duplexing--the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf is fairly cheap, at around $199. It's as fast as could be expected, and print quality is decent, though pages tended to curl more than I like.
Pros:
- Plug and Print--no more running a CD to install drivers
- Very good monochrome printing
- Very fast
Cons:
- No wireless
- Manual duplexing
- Bulky

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP – Easy to set up
HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP is really easy to setup. For the USB installation, you can either use the bundled disc or Smart Install. I used the latter. You first need to print a configuration report through the control panel of the printer by pressing set up button.

A 'rave review'
This printer replaced a horrendous Xerox- no end of trouble for 18 months so I binned it. The HP just plugged in and it was up and running on my business' network within 5 mins. Ink installation is easy (just drops into the printer) and the ink is reasonably cheap- I've used third-party toner ever...

The set up was kind of simple. This machine somehow used up a toner (85A) in less than one week. We used to have the Laserjet 3055 (lasted 1 years), and a single toner (12A) lasted for about 3-4 weeks. It is kind to noisy when we fax and print documents.
Pros:
- Compact Design
- Easy Setup
- Fast Operation
Cons:
- Ink hog
- Noisy

" ADF Motor is loud "
This unit works well, and performs fairly well, works well with Mac if you a Mac's built in programs or scanning into Acrobat. However, the motor of the ADF (document feeder) is very loud and cheap in comparison to my previous HP AIO unt. Trying to find a different model with a much quieter motor.

HP LaserJet Pro m1212nf review
The HP LaserJet Pro m1212nf is a printer that has a low initial cost, low running costs and some useful green features. It prints reasonably quickly and with reasonable quality, as long as you're not expecting great graphics.

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP
However you look it, the Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP ($199 direct) offers a lot of capability for the price. The easiest way to make that point, however, is to compare it with HP's own LaserJet Pro P1102w ($149.99 direct, ) printer that I reviewed just a few months ago.
Pros:
- Small size
- Automatic document feeder (ADF)
- Prints, scans, and faxes, even over a network
- Standalone copier and fax
Cons:
- Low paper capacity
- High cost per page
- Manual duplexing only

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf
Laser printing mechanisms are generally more bulky than equivalent inkjets, so both printers and all-in-ones tend to be larger machines. HP bucks this trend with the LaserJet Pro M1212nf, as it has a very compact footprint for a mono laser multifunction.
