HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP
However you look it, the Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP ($199 direct) offers a lot of capability for the price. The easiest way to make that point, however, is to compare it with HP's own LaserJet Pro P1102w ($149.99 direct, ) printer that I reviewed just a few months ago.
Pros:
- Small size
- Automatic document feeder (ADF)
- Prints, scans, and faxes, even over a network
- Standalone copier and fax
Cons:
- Low paper capacity
- High cost per page
- Manual duplexing only

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf
Laser printing mechanisms are generally more bulky than equivalent inkjets, so both printers and all-in-ones tend to be larger machines. HP bucks this trend with the LaserJet Pro M1212nf, as it has a very compact footprint for a mono laser multifunction.

This low-cost HP laser printer can handle large print volumes and has low ongoing costs
The HP LaserJet Pro m1212nf is a multifunction monochrome laser printer aimed at small businesses and home offices. It's a great choice if you want to print up to 2000 pages per month for a low price, and its scanning and copying features come in handy.
Pros:
- Simple to operate via USB or Ethernet
- fast printing with good text quality at both 600dpi and 1200dpi
Cons:
- Average monochrome graphic quality with intermittent banding

I recently bought this all in one to replace a Samsung mono laser printer. This unit has been performing like a workhorse - just dependable and ready to go. Networking this printer was very easy, despite not being wireless. It prints quick and makes great copies.

Scanner is Horrible for anything but tiny jobs!
Do not buy this machine if you need a high capacity and great scanner. If you just want the "ability" to scan on the off chance that you need to scan one or two pages then it will be fine for you.
Pros:
- It works as a printer just fine
- That is the only reason I gave it one full star by the way
Cons:
- Loud
- Misfeeds when grabbing pages to scan often jams
- Scanning is insanely slow
- Pages appear crooked on scans
- Cannot handle large jobs and a large job is anything more than 30 pages for this machine

The set up was kind of simple. This machine somehow used up a toner (85A) in less than one week. We used to have the Laserjet 3055 (lasted 1 years), and a single toner (12A) lasted for about 3-4 weeks. It is kind to noisy when we fax and print documents.
Pros:
- Compact Design
- Easy Setup
- Fast Operation
Cons:
- Ink hog
- Noisy

" ADF Motor is loud "
This unit works well, and performs fairly well, works well with Mac if you a Mac's built in programs or scanning into Acrobat. However, the motor of the ADF (document feeder) is very loud and cheap in comparison to my previous HP AIO unt. Trying to find a different model with a much quieter motor.

A 'rave review'
This printer replaced a horrendous Xerox- no end of trouble for 18 months so I binned it. The HP just plugged in and it was up and running on my business' network within 5 mins. Ink installation is easy (just drops into the printer) and the ink is reasonably cheap- I've used third-party toner ever...
