Most business desktops start out with a quad-core processor, but the Intel i3-3240 dual-core 3.4GHz processor included in the HP Compaq Elite 8300 base model simply doesn't compare to the processors used by the best business computers.
Pros:
- The three-year warranty covers parts and labor
- Six expansion slots and six drive bays means your computer can expand and evolve with the needs of your business
Cons:
- The base model comes with only 2GB of memory and the Intel i3-3220 processor only has two cores

Love this Computer
We bought this for hubby, he needed an upgrade but didn't want Windows8 yet. This fit the bill because we could order W7 instead. He loves the speed too. We have always had HP computers, and saw no reason to change now. .

Zippy system!
Placed this system in service just six weeks ago and I haven't had any trouble with it at all. Helps me get my work done faster!

Decent machine - but is it worth the trouble of upgrading?
Comparing the two machines, you'd think there would be a huge difference:
Pros:
- The only benefits I found were
Cons:
- When I was all done, the results were not impressive to me as compared with my older xw4400
- The machine feels marginally faster, although I'm still waiting on the extra memory
- I also was a bit too frugal on the video card and realized I should have ordered one with more power for video editing.
