Google’s Android Smartphone, the Pixel XL, has been specially designed by the search engine giant to accommodate their newest OS versions. It runs Nougat like a pro as well as earlier versions of Android’s operating system. Google didn’t hold back on the aesthetics either. The design of these phones really highlights the brilliantly crisp touchscreen with elegant colour options. Choose between ‘quite black’, ‘very silver’ and ‘really blue’ depending on your preferences.

The quad-core CPU along with the Adreno 530 make operating your Google Pixel fast & simple. 2GB RAM will also keep your apps running smoothly. You’ll also get an onboard memory of 32GB for storage (this is not upgradeable, but larger onboard memory versions of the phone are available). The motivation behind this Smartphone was to introduce Android users to their latest version 7.1 (aka Nougat), which is now available for upgrading other Android-compatible phones. However, Google wanted this particular phone to highlight the advancement of their operating system—and they’ve succeeded!

Google have not forgotten about camera functionality on the Google Pixel XL. The 12.3MP camera with dual-LED flash will make your photos crisp & clear, boasting a high resolution for close shots and distant ones. The video recording function also delivers high resolution depending on your settings. Choose between 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps and 720p@240fps. With these great features, there’s no reason to be sceptical about Google’s new phone. They clearly know what they are doing.

Don't remove the review but please read why

Useless review. You've never seen it, never touched one, wanted blue so went to iPhone, where there's no blue, and lastly come out with the statement "your loss google" i really don't think they will worry about that.

This phone arrived literally a week ago (on a Thursday). I powered it up but didn't switch the SIM card over until Tuesday (today is Thursday, two days later). 1. Most troublesome: I enter my PIN and the screen just goes black, makes me enter the PIN, repeatedly, I can't get into the phone. 2.

On first impressions, weecan't help but feel that the Pixel is a bit of a wasted opportunity. The handset has a largely boring design, doesn't offer much in the way of innovation and is expensive compared with previous Nexus smartphones.

Review: Google's new Pixel XL is a fine phone -- but is it really special?

You'd be forgiven if you were a little suspicious of Google's resolve in the smartphone game. This is, after all, the company that's used a revolving door to partner with every major player/competitor except Apple for each generation of device.
Pros:
  • Uses new Android Nougat, Google's latest OS
  • usable both on Verizon and Google's Project Fi
  • solid construction
Cons:
  • Price is as high as the competition's
  • camera functionality could be better

Google Pixel XL review

Google, mighty overseer of the internet, has made a smartphone. The Nexus-brand notwithstanding, this time around the firm has done the design, engineering and testing wholly in-house.
