Google Pixel XL

Many have questioned Google's reasoning for taking the direction it has with the Pixel XL. Last year's Nexus 6P was a great phone at a great price. The Pixel line isn't about value, however; the focus here is on sheer quality.

Stunning; fast camera; The best version of Android yet; Impressive stamina; Bright display; Google Assistant is better than Siri

No water-resistance; Not very durable; Pretty pricey

When Google set out to develop and market its first Phone by Google branded device - not co-branded with a partner - and spiritual successors to its legacy Nexus brand, the company drew a line in the sand.

Smooth as silk.

Smoothest device I have ever owned. The only thing I can complain about is it's not waterproof. I went from the Note 7 to the Pixel XL and haven't regretted it at all.

Google Pixel XL review: Android's new heavyweight champion

Google is finally taking the smartphone fight seriously, launching two new handsets with one simple message: Pixel, Phone by Google. That might sound like a slightly gawky message, but it's laced with potency.

Great build quality and design; great camera; good battery life; uncluttered pure Android experience - with extras; unlimited photo storage

No microSD card slot; price; camera has some white balance issues

Google Pixel XL Review: Successfully Succeeding the Nexus

There's a lot to like here. Google is making a second attempt at a first impression. For folks most concerned about software performance, we think they'll be very pleased with what they get. Seriously. The Pixel XL is a screamer when paging around the UI.

Phenomenal UI Performance; Eye Catching Rear Design; Excellent Camera Auto Software; Best in Class Voice Assistant; Very Good Battery Life and Recharging Speeds

Pricier than the Nexus it replaces; Poor Camera Lens Quality; Camera software ignores more experienced users; Poor Headphone Quality

Don't remove the review but please read why

Useless review. You've never seen it, never touched one, wanted blue so went to iPhone, where there's no blue, and lastly come out with the statement "your loss google" i really don't think they will worry about that.

Google Pixel XL Review: Two-Thirds Great

The Google Pixel XL is an acceptable piece of hardware buoyed by superb software and excellent performance. It's hard to call it the best overall Android smartphone when it lacks waterproofing, removable storage, and OIS, even though it definitely runs like the best Android smartphone, with a clean...

Great software; Excellent performance; Camera produces stunning pics in many shooting situations; Ships with useful adapters

Not waterproof; No expandable storage; Camera's low-light performance disappointing

Google Pixel XL review

The Pixel XL is a bit of a puzzle. A £719 puzzle that I'm not sure I've managed to solve after a week of using one. Right now, though, the OnePlus 3 is still the best value Android phone - it's half the price of the XL, but matches it for build quality and a near-stock version of Android.

Fast camera that takes quality snaps; As slick and streamlined as Android gets

Only average battery life; Marmite school of design; No standout features
