Goodbye Samsung. Hello Google!

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I've owned Samsung products for the past five years, beginning with the Galaxy S3, then the Note 4, and finally the S7 Edge. I was happy with the S3 and the Note 4, but the S7 Edge was terrible.

Pixel XL...finally, the one

★★★★★ 4.5
Verdict: For years now, I've said the best Android phone would be an iPhone running the operating system. The Pixel XL finally delivers on that. Sure, it's a very similar design (people always ask me if it's the 7 Plus), but it's also a design that works.

Google Pixel XL

Pros:
  • Best camera ever
  • Best Android phone
  • Great operating system
  • Great RAM management
  • Amazing display
  • Great battery backup
  • Strong device
  • Fastest Android experience ever

Terrible Phone

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I literally lost my job because of this phone. Second day on it, I found the setting to have the phone vibrate when getting a phone call is off by default, even if the phone is set to silent. I missed some important phone calls.

Google Pixel XL 128GB

★★★★ 1.0
Verdict: This phone arrived literally a week ago (on a Thursday). I powered it up but didn't switch the SIM card over until Tuesday (today is Thursday, two days later). 1. Most troublesome: I enter my PIN and the screen just goes black, makes me enter the PIN, repeatedly, I can't get into the phone. 2.

Premium performance, Premium price... Service not so Premium.

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Pixel XL has some solid hardware packed in a sweet and simple exterior casing. Only issue with the phone was with its inbuilt mic which stopped working after two months of the purchase (not from Amazon). HTC is the original manufacturer and it took a week for them to "repair" the phone.

Smooth as silk.

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Smoothest device I have ever owned. The only thing I can complain about is it's not waterproof. I went from the Note 7 to the Pixel XL and haven't regretted it at all.
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • Not waterproof

Google Pixel XL Smartphone Review

★★★★ 4.4
Verdict: The Google Pixel XL is a very good smartphone. However, its core feature, the Google Assistant, is not a decisive reason to buy it. Above all, it does not justify the price which the manufacturer charges for its product.
Pros:
  • good display, high-end build quality, LTE Cat
  • 11, fast WiFi, excellent voice quality, great cameras, low SAR values
Cons:
  • no Dual-SIM
  • no microSD support
  • PWM
  • SoC throttling

Google Pixel XL Review

★★★★★ 4.5
Verdict: Nexus is dead, and Pixel is here to replace it. It's the biggest shift in Google's homegrown smartphone strategy since the first Nexus launch in 2010. Google executives have assured this will be one to remember, and the company has begun an advertising campaign bigger than anything they've done...
Pros:
  • The best smartphone camera available
  • The best Android software experience yet
  • Snappy performance
  • Fantastic high-resolution display
  • Decent battery life
Cons:
  • Lacks water resistance, wireless charging, and microSD card slot
  • Expensive
  • (Subjectively) ugly design

Google Pixel XL 128GB

★★★★ 4.4
Verdict: There's no doubt that if you want the Pixel or the Pixel XL, you'll definitely be paying a premium for having access to Google's latest experience. The question you're probably asking right now is – should you buy either?
Pros:
  • Google Assistant is fantastic Excellent camera with HDR+ and ES Lighting fast experience Above average battery life Above average speaker performance Great display Pixel Launcher is one of the best interfaces
Cons:
  • Generic
  • understated design Easily chipped and dented Lack of OIS can affect videos High price tag

A new Google Pixel XL Review in brief, 5-months later

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: It's been 5 months since I started using a Google Pixel XL and, like no other phone before it, I can't imagine switching to any other device. While it's quite possible the newest wave of smartphones from brands like Samsung and LG will out-style and out-display the Pixel with their newest devices...
Pros:
  • Best smartphone camera on the market
  • Google's software and hardware
  • Seamless updates without need for tapping
  • Swift
  • responsive UI that does not slow down
  • months later
  • Strong
  • flat
  • standard industrial design
Cons:
  • Could benefit from wireless charging
  • Front-facing speakers would be best
  • Availability should've been solid from the start
  • Android File Transfer should work or be replaced

Google Pixel XL review

★★★★★
Verdict: There is no such thing as a perfect smartphone. I know because I've been trying to find one for longer than I care to remember. There's also no such thing as being 100% happy with the phone you have. At least this is true for me.
Pros:
  • Very fast
  • Great camera
  • Long battery life
  • 2 years of OS updates
  • 3 years of security updates
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Not water resistant/water proof
  • No stereo speakers

  • Super fast and responsive

Google Pixel XL Review: Successfully Succeeding the Nexus

★★★★★ 4.6
Verdict: There's a lot to like here. Google is making a second attempt at a first impression. For folks most concerned about software performance, we think they'll be very pleased with what they get. Seriously. The Pixel XL is a screamer when paging around the UI.
Pros:
  • Phenomenal UI Performance
  • Eye Catching Rear Design
  • Excellent Camera Auto Software
  • Best in Class Voice Assistant
  • Very Good Battery Life and Recharging Speeds
Cons:
  • Pricier than the Nexus it replaces
  • Poor Camera Lens Quality
  • Camera software ignores more experienced users
  • Poor Headphone Quality

Review: Google's new Pixel XL is a fine phone -- but is it really special?

★★★★★
Verdict: You'd be forgiven if you were a little suspicious of Google's resolve in the smartphone game. This is, after all, the company that's used a revolving door to partner with every major player/competitor except Apple for each generation of device.
Pros:
  • Uses new Android Nougat, Google's latest OS
  • usable both on Verizon and Google's Project Fi
  • solid construction
Cons:
  • Price is as high as the competition's
  • camera functionality could be better

Google Pixel XL review: a top smartphone for an iPhone price

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: Without a doubt, the Pixel XL and its little brother, the Pixel, are both very good smartphones in our opinion. Although the change of name from Nexus to Pixel implies dramatic changes to the smartphone, the reality is that Pixel phones hardly differ from the previous Nexus smartphones.
Pros:
  • Brilliant display
  • Rapid performance
  • Top camera
  • No bloatware
Cons:
  • Very high Price
  • No headphones included
  • Only IP53 certified

Google Pixel XL

★★★★★ 4.5
Verdict: Many have questioned Google's reasoning for taking the direction it has with the Pixel XL. Last year's Nexus 6P was a great phone at a great price. The Pixel line isn't about value, however; the focus here is on sheer quality.
Pros:
  • Stunning
  • fast camera
  • The best version of Android yet
  • Impressive stamina
  • Bright display
  • Google Assistant is better than Siri
Cons:
  • No water-resistance
  • Not very durable
  • Pretty pricey

Google Pixel XL review

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: The Pixel XL is a bit of a puzzle. A £719 puzzle that I'm not sure I've managed to solve after a week of using one. Right now, though, the OnePlus 3 is still the best value Android phone - it's half the price of the XL, but matches it for build quality and a near-stock version of Android.
Pros:
  • Fast camera that takes quality snaps
  • As slick and streamlined as Android gets
Cons:
  • Only average battery life
  • Marmite school of design
  • No standout features

Google Pixel XL

★★★★ 4.0

Pros:
  • Debuts latest Android Nougat OS
  • Clean
  • slick and efficiently stripped-back interface
  • Google Assistant is impressive
  • Sharp
  • punchy and detailed screen
  • Comprehensive
  • high-quality camera
Cons:
  • Sound quality is uncompetitive
  • Not fully waterproof

Google Pixel XL review: Android's new heavyweight champion

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Google is finally taking the smartphone fight seriously, launching two new handsets with one simple message: Pixel, Phone by Google. That might sound like a slightly gawky message, but it's laced with potency.
Pros:
  • Great build quality and design
  • great camera
  • good battery life
  • uncluttered pure Android experience - with extras
  • unlimited photo storage
Cons:
  • No microSD card slot
  • price
  • camera has some white balance issues

Google Pixel and Pixel XL Smartphone

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: The downside, for me, is I often want to check the time or unlock the phone while it's lying on the table.
Pros:
  • Eye-catching design
  • Fast camera – and no camera bump
  • Clever Google Assistant
Cons:
  • Not waterproof
  • Average battery life
  • Not the bargain Nexus was

OnePlus 3T vs Google Pixel XL review

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: With such a big price difference, it's hard to recommend buying the Google Pixel XL here. For a lot less money you get the same Snapdragon 821 processor, premium design and large battery. Add in that OnePlus gets your more storage and RAM and you have a flagship killer.

Google Pixel XL 128GB

★★★★★ 4.6
Verdict: Display - XL The first major difference that we find on the Google Pixel XL is a larger 5.5" AMOLED displayed. This gives the user an extra half inch of screen to enjoy and its inclusion only adds 11mm to its height and 6mm to its width.

Google Pixel XL 128GB

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: The Google Pixel is a very good smartphone, but it's also very expensive. It starts at £719 for the 32GB Pixel and runs up to £819 for the 128GB Pixel XL. Those are iPhone 7 and 7 Plus prices for a phone whose predecessors from the Nexus range were best known for their unbeatable bang-for-buck.

Review: Google Pixel & Google Pixel XL

★★★★★ 3.4
Verdict: The new Google Pixel phone and its supersized cousin, the Google Pixel XL, represent a paradigm shift in the smartphone world. Although this isn't the first time the search giant has sold smartphones under its own name, it's the first time it has marketed them under the Pixel brand.

Google Pixel XL 128GB

★★★★ 4.2

Google Pixel XL 128GB

★★★★★
Verdict: A pixel is defined as the smallest addressable element in an all points addressable display device. Essentially speaking, it is the smallest component of a much bigger picture. There's a case to be made that Google really couldn't have named their new phones better.
Pros:
  • Fantastic camera
  • Extremely fast & fluid hardware
  • Great battery life
  • Fast Android updates
Cons:
  • Price
  • Dull design
