Google Pixel 6 review: A high-end Google phone at the right price
The Google Pixel 6 is a stellar phone for the price. The more expensive Pixel 6 Pro is a tougher sell , but at only $600, the standard Pixel 6 is the phone to beat. It performs well, offers an excellent camera, and boasts a solid display. It’s not a perfect phone.
Google Pixel 6 Pro review: The Pixel finally goes flagship
The Google Pixel 6 Pro is a solid option from Google, but it’s not necessarily a home run like the standard Pixel 6 is in its price range. The good news is that the device performs like a flagship and takes photos like a flagship.
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
Where the Pixel 6 Pro is about competing on an equal footing with the top smartphones on the market, the Pixel 6 offers all of what makes Google phones great while significantly undercutting the competition on price.- Pros: class-leading camera, great screen, excellent performance, good battery life, recycled aluminium, five years of security updates, Android 12, impressive local AI features, very competitively priced.
- Cons: fairly slow charging, no optical zoom, fingerprint scanner can be picky, no face unlock option, only three years of Android version updates despite five years of security support.
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
After spending a few weeks with Google’s latest smartphone—the Pixel 6 (dual-released alongside the Pixel 6 Pro )—I can easily say that it is powerful, beautiful, and quintessentially Google. And priced well under $1,000, it should absolutely be your next Android phone.- Excellent affordable value, Tensor chip performance is impressive, Outstanding camera software, Great battery life
- Under-display fingerprint scanner is sometimes frustrating, Weirdly slippery design, Display could be brighter
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
Overall, the Pixel 6 takes excellent images on a level with flagship smartphones costing nearer £1,000. Yes, you miss the telephoto camera on most other premium flagships, but if you can live without this, you’re making an impressive saving, as well as benefiting from some of the most impressive...
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
The Google Pixel 6 is the new "value" king in the world of smartphones.- New camera sensors are impressive, Battery life is still very good, Larger size, Flat display, Incredibly priced
- No charger in the box, 5G is weird, but not as bad as with the Pro, Display is only 90Hz
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
Google’s direction for the Pixel 6 has to be commended. From the chip, to the software and the camera this is one of the few phones I have used this year that feels interesting and actually new.- So many great software features, Nice array of colours, Strong camera hardware for the price, Software is a big factor in how you use a phone: Google excels at software and there are so many neat tricks here. Plus you’ll get plenty of updates and five years of security updates.
- Some jank in the software, The display lacks the 120Hz refresh rate of many similarly priced rivals, A couple of odd design choices, Sheer performance is your key reason to upgrade: Google’s focus with the Tensor chipset isn’t on blazing performance, and for me that’s fine.
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
The Google Pixel 6 gets a lot right and on the whole, you get excellent hardware and software for a reasonable price. However, the question is largely whether the design is a step in the wrong direction or not.- Good value, Great cameras, Excellent software, 90Hz OLED screen
- Divisive design, Big and heavy, Slow charging
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
The Google Pixel 6 isn’t the most powerful phone on the market, but its new Tensor chipset elevates its photo-taking capabilities beyond that of rival handsets. While it lacks a telephoto lens, and its battery life isn’t anything to brag about, it’s a big phone with a 6.4-inch display, a radical new...- Fantastic photos, Good price, Intriguing design
- No zoom lens, Middling battery, Limited storage
Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review
“The Pixel 6 may be flatter and cheaper than the Pixel 6 Pro, but the software, performance, and even the screen and camera get close enough to still make it tempting.”- Great camera, Screen is colorful and vibrant, Latest Android 12 software, Years of software updates
- Flaky connectivity, Fast charger not included
