Google Pixel 6 review: Starting fresh

There are two big talking points with the Pixel 6: the unique design and the Google-made processor. This focus on creating a phone that's visually distinct from everything else on the market while also investing in its own home-grown silicon suggests Google is taking this whole smartphone thing very...
Pros:
  • Unique standout design, Five years of security/software updates, Water and dust resistance, Not too expensive
Cons:
  • It's quite big compared to the Pixel 5, Fast-charging not all that fast

Google Pixel 6 review: A new hope

The Pixel 6 is the smartphone that is supposed to mark the revival of Google in the Android market. With a brand new 50+12 MP camera module, a new custom Tensor SoC, and a spanking new daring design, I'll share my detailed opinion about the Google Pixel 6 and tell you whether this is the one or not.
Pros:
  • Potentially iconic design, Well-calibrated 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, Powerful Tensor SoC does not overheat, Pixel-like photo rendering, Adequate battery life, 5 years of security updates, IP68 + wireless and reverse charging, Reasonable price
Cons:
  • Camera module is not versatile enough without a telephoto lens, Fast charging is too slow and has no included charger, Night Sight mode is not natural for night shots, 128GB storage without a microSD port, "Only" 3 major Android updates

Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review

Google's latest Pixels — the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro — may be 2021 phones, but Google refreshes its models at the end of the year. So, they are the flagship models for most of 2022.
Pros:
  • Great price to value, Good-looking OLED screen with 90 Hz refresh, Great camera, Android 12 runs fast and smooth, Smart features and exclusive Assistant functions
Cons:
  • Speakers are thin-ish, Android 12 needs some polish in presentation, Tensor chip is smart but not a super-performer

Pros:
  • bright 90 Hz OLED, fast SoC, IP68 certification, powerful dual-camera setup, long update cycle
Cons:
  • no storage expansion, thin voice quality in speaker mode, USB without image output

Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review

The Google Pixel 6 is the new "value" king in the world of smartphones.
Pros:

Google Pixel 6 (256GB, Stormy Black) - Excellent review

Google’s direction for the Pixel 6 has to be commended. From the chip, to the software and the camera this is one of the few phones I have used this year that feels interesting and actually new.
Pros:
  • So many great software features, Nice array of colours, Strong camera hardware for the price, Software is a big factor in how you use a phone: Google excels at software and there are so many neat tricks here. Plus you’ll get plenty of updates and five years of security updates.
Cons:
  • Some jank in the software, The display lacks the 120Hz refresh rate of many similarly priced rivals, A couple of odd design choices, Sheer performance is your key reason to upgrade: Google’s focus with the Tensor chipset isn’t on blazing performance, and for me that’s fine.

Pros:
  • Good value, Great cameras, Excellent software, 90Hz OLED screen
Cons:
  • Divisive design, Big and heavy, Slow charging
