Google Pixel 6 hands-on review
The Pixel 6 is a formidable Android phone at a very compelling price point. Could this be the turning point for mass take-up of Google’s stock Android devices? Let’s hope so, because it would be a massive shame if this didn’t prove a big seller. It’s great to use and offers plenty of bang for buck. You might not get a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz with the standard model, but the screen is terrific, too.

The Google Pixel 6 is a stellar phone for the price. The more expensive Pixel 6 Pro is a tougher sell , but at only $600, the standard Pixel 6 is the phone to beat. It performs well, offers an excellent camera, and boasts a solid display. It’s not a perfect phone.

- Potentially iconic design, Well-calibrated 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, Powerful Tensor SoC does not overheat, Pixel-like photo rendering, Adequate battery life, 5 years of security updates, IP68 + wireless and reverse charging, Reasonable price
Cons:
- Camera module is not versatile enough without a telephoto lens, Fast charging is too slow and has no included charger, Night Sight mode is not natural for night shots, 128GB storage without a microSD port, "Only" 3 major Android updates
