Google Pixel 4a 5G review: A smarter choice than the Pixel 5?
This phone makes the most sense in Google's 2020 Pixel series line-up. It's cheaper than the Pixel 5, has a larger display, and the same great camera, making it a win in our books.- Great display - larger than Pixel 5
- Super camera experience
- Includes 3.5mm headphone socket
- Speaker offers great quality
- Sensible price - less than the Pixel 5
- No waterproofing
- No optical zoom camera - and there's a 2x digital zoom bug
Perfect Sized Phone
Managed to secure one of these sweet phones on release and haven't looked back... Intuitive and a joy to use!
Best Phone Ever
Cannot fault.. Performs really well. Nice clean UI.. Battery Lasts at least 2 days
Google Pixel 4A 5G (128GB, Black) Australian Stock - Refurbished (Excellent) review
Last year's Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL incorporated flagship specifications, but had terrible battery life and were priced too high. This year we see a different strategy with lower prices, midrange specifications, and fewer available options with the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G .- Latest Android software, Excellent camera software, Affordable price, 5G cellular support, 3.5mm headphone jack, Rear fingerprint sensor
- Limited storage options
Excellent across the board
At first it's quite a bit different from my previous HTC U Ultra, and I was disappointed that the newest HTC phones weren't available in Australia, but I am supremely happy with my Pixel 4a 5. It is highly customisable which I like, it is practical and highly functional in it's setup and layout and the IA contained within is exactly what you expect from Google...the makers of the driverless cars and giant drone commuter vehicle. And with the 4G and 5G capabilities it is way more useful for many more users than the newer and maybe flashier 5G only phones.

Google Pixel 4a 5G: If you’re comfortable with spending a bit more, then the Pixel 4a 5G is worth the extra cash- Excellent value, Similar hardware to Pixel 5, Long-lasting battery life
- Cheaper design, No wireless charging, No face unlock
Great value phone, but broken features
Overall, it's been a great phone, easily one of the best at it's price. Only complaint is that tap-to-pay causes an error on any payment terminal, despite allegedly working according to the phone. Tried multiple apps for payment which had all worked on my Samsung device, but online research indicates it's a widespread issue which Google doesn't seem likely to fix.
Excellent phone except placement of power button
Everything is good about the phone, battery, pics, performance, size, display. The only correction I could suggest is if the power button and the volume button could have been interchanged. If you are watching any video and you want to increase or decrease the sound you have to use the secon hand.

The Pixel 4a 5G is a very good phone, boosted significantly by its highly impressive camera performance and Google’s signature streamlined software. However, take a look at your top priorities and your available budget before buying this one over the Pixel 4a or the Pixel 5.

I have been a Samsung person for a long time. I am starting to like the phone. Google needs to come up with a better notes app that you can lock. Only downside is Samsung notes is the best compared to this.
