Google Pixel 4A 5G (128GB, Black) Australian Stock - Refurbished (Excellent) review

The Pixel 4a 5G is the best mix of battery life, price and capability of this year’s Google smartphones. It isn’t as nice to hold as the £599 Pixel 5, but the rest of the experience is essentially the same, just with a slightly bigger screen and longer battery life of more than two days.
Pros:
  • Pros: great camera, good screen, great software and update support, great battery life, relatively inexpensive, headphone socket, 5G.
Cons:
  • Cons: no expandable storage, no water resistance, plastic body is a bit plain.

Excellent across the board

At first it's quite a bit different from my previous HTC U Ultra, and I was disappointed that the newest HTC phones weren't available in Australia, but I am supremely happy with my Pixel 4a 5. It is highly customisable which I like, it is practical and highly functional in it's setup and layout and the IA contained within is exactly what you expect from Google...the makers of the driverless cars and giant drone commuter vehicle. And with the 4G and 5G capabilities it is way more useful for many more users than the newer and maybe flashier 5G only phones.

Google Pixel 4A 5G (128GB, Black) Australian Stock - Refurbished (Excellent) review

I have been a Samsung person for a long time. I am starting to like the phone. Google needs to come up with a better notes app that you can lock. Only downside is Samsung notes is the best compared to this.

Google Pixel 4A 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

The Pixel 3a debuted at Google I/O 2019, and it was closer to budget smartphone nirvana than any phone in the US that came before it. That was, until Apple responded with the iPhone SE .
Pros:
  • Price In America, this is a lot of phone for $350. In fact, I see no reason to buy any currently on sale Android smartphone that doesn't cost as least twice as much as the 4a., Camera This phone uses the same sensor and optics as the Pixel 4 (which were the same as the Pixel 3, etc.). You can tell.
Cons:
  • Soft touch plastic It greases up almost instantly, just like the Nexus 5 (one throwback that hasn't aged well, IMO)., Auto-brightness Google thinks my issues are relatively isolated, but I've had consistent issues with the autobrightness freaking out.

Google Pixel 4A 5G (128GB, Black) Australian Stock - Refurbished (Excellent) review

Last year's Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL incorporated flagship specifications, but had terrible battery life and were priced too high. This year we see a different strategy with lower prices, midrange specifications, and fewer available options with the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G .
Pros:
  • Latest Android software, Excellent camera software, Affordable price, 5G cellular support, 3.5mm headphone jack, Rear fingerprint sensor
Cons:
  • Limited storage options

Google Pixel 4A 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

The Pixel 4a is an amazing device. But every time a device like this comes along and I sing its praises, someone asks me if I'd really be willing to make it my daily driver, and the answer is no, only because there's no wireless charging.
Pros:
  • Pixel camera, Unique design, Solid performance, Value
Cons:
  • No wireless charging, 60Hz screen, No 5G
