Google Pixel 4 XL review: Same pros as the Pixel 4... and same cons, too

Update, Aug. 7, 2020: Google has discontinued the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL phones. This follows the launch of the Pixel 4A, which we have reviewed. Original story follows.

There's no denying the Pixel 4 XL has one of the best cameras around, but its shortcomings don't justify its high price. Instead, consider the Note 10 or the OnePlus 7T. The Pixel 3 XL is another great candidate and is discounted at $600 now.

The Pixel 4 XL has a big screen that refreshes 90 times a second, so everything looks real smooth. It also takes outstanding photos, and its face unlock is the fastest we've seen.

The phone is expensive, doesn't come with earbuds and has no expandable storage option.

So far it is great. Can't say anymore, because I am trying to get use to it myself, give me couple of months, then will able to tell you more.

Google Pixel 4 Review

Featuring an excellent camera and a completely clean Android 10 install, Google's Pixel 4 is an excellent phone that matches – if not beats – key competitors in a number of areas. It’s not the prettiest phone around, and for the money you can get phones with better hardware, like the OnePlus 7T. But Google’s imaging wizardry and clean software more than make up for this. However, its battery life is way shorter than most competing handsets.

Compact design; Excellent camera; Clean Android 10 install;

Below average battery life;

The Google Pixel 4 XL Review: Stuck In The Past In 2019

We're are the end of 2019 and the Pixel 4 is amongst the last devices released this generation. I'll be fully honest here and say that the expectations for the phone for me weren't all that great, something quite unfortunate to say for any product but just a fact of reality given Google's Pixel...

Google Pixel 4 XL

Google Pixel 4 XL is the larger variant of the standard Pixel 4 , as well as the direct successor of the Pixel 3 XL of October 2018. This unit brings a larger display, better quad-HD+ resolution and even a bigger battery.

Google Pixel 4 XL review: A Soli excuse for a battery

It seems that adding innovative extras on the Pixel 4 XL has robbed it of the basics. The battery life is woeful, there's no fingerprint reader, Google Assistant keeps popping up like an annoying neighbour and there are those great big bezels making the screen look untidy.

Motion Sensor; Superb display; Great cameras

Thick bezels; Poor battery

The camera is insane!

I had the Pixel 3 and now the Pixel 4, the camera functionality is great and portrait mode is phenomenal! Also the user experience is really nice and an easy switch from iPhone.

Google Pixel 4XL Smartphone Review

The Google Pixel 4XL is the latest flagship/premium smartphone to arrive from Google and as the name suggests, it's the fourth generation Google smartphone (not including the Pixel 3a/3a XL introduced earlier this year) and with it, a few upgrades have been introduced which include an extra camera,...

Excellent image quality; Easy to take great photos; Impressive Night Sight mode; Great screen; Solid build

The battery is disappointing; No MicroSD slot to expand the memory; No headphone socket; Clipping issues on some portraits; No fingerprint scanner

Google Pixel 4 XL review: Same, but different

Google Pixel 4 XL: Soli, not Soli

Bold new design; Bigger battery than regular Pixel 4; Camera is better than ever

Battery life is still unimpressive; Lacks microSD and fingerprint sensor

Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL review: more than the sum of its sensors

The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are the best argument that specs don't tell you everything you need to know about a phone - because the experience of using a Pixel 4 is better than any other Android phone.

Face unlock; Smooth display; Excellent still camera; Face unlock; Smooth display; Excellent still camera

Disappointing battery life; Video quality and features don't match the stills; No ultrawide camera; Battery life only average; Video quality and features don't match the stills; No ultrawide camera
