Google Pixel 3a XL Review

Inch-for-inch, the Google Pixel 3a XL offers the best bang for your buck among big-screen Android phones. The Google Pixel 3a XL is a different kind of flagship phablet. It has everything you expect from a high-end Android phone—fantastic camera quality, a beautiful display, long battery life, and solid performance—minus the high-end price. No, it isn't quite as powerful as Google's true flagship, the Pixel 3 XL, but at $479, it costs $420 less. While the slightly smaller Pixel 3a earns our Editors' Choice in the midrange phone department, the Pixel 3a XL is every bit as good a value, and easy to recommend to anyone who prefers a larger phone. Design, Display, and Durability While sexy glass-bodied smartphones have dominated the market for the past few years, the Pixel 3a XL doesn't follow that lead. Instead, it yields to a more utilitarian design language that's reminiscent of its pricier sibling. The phone measures 6.3 by 3.0 by 0.3 inches and weighs in at 5.9 ounces. Pros:
  • Fantastic camera
  • Beautiful OLED display
  • Long battery life
  • Solid performance
  • Guaranteed software updates for three years
Cons:
  • No microSD slot or wireless charging

Google Pixel 3 review: Great things come in small(er) packages

We've definitely taken a look at our fair share of smartphones over the past few years and have definitely noticed, along with everyone else, the trend towards bigger phones. While smartphones, in general, are slowly getting bigger, bigger isn't always better.
Pros:
  • Outstanding camera
  • especially Night Sight
  • Feels like a solid
  • well built smartphone
  • Crisp
  • bright display
  • Great performance
  • Gesture navigation is quick once you get used to it
  • Monthly security updates
  • Unlimited online photo storage for two years
  • Decent sound quality
  • Includes USB-C to 3.5mm...
Cons:
  • No microSD card slot
  • Average/boring design (that works
  • Very occasional performance hiccup
  • Included headphones uncomfortable and mediocre
  • Top speaker isn't as loud as bottom
  • Like other flagships
  • pricey
  • No headphone jack

Best camera just got even better

Let's get the elephant out of the room, I am no fan of a notch, that's why I got the smaller pixel. Also because I have used a series of big phones, from Note 5 to Note 8, I miss the compactness of smaller phones.
