Google Nexus 6P review

One of the best Nexus devices to date, and a real alternative to the cream of the crop from Samsung and LG.

Good photo quality; Solid speakers; Strong value; for every version; Quality design and finger scanner; Fantastic selfie camera

Screen colours are a little hot; Battery life just OK; Camera app should be smarter

Nexus 6P review: The best Nexus device to date

This year we've had not one but two Nexus phones. The Nexus 5X , manufactured by LG, is the smaller of the bloatware-free Android devices, but while we liked that handset, it just doesn't really stand-out beyond the current mid-range market .

Beautiful aluminium frame; gorgeous plus-sized screen; punchy processor with no overheating; super-fast fingerprint scanner on the back; 4K video and slo-mo at 120 or 240fps (at 720p); great 8MP selfie camera; USB Type-C charging; speedy and pure Android 6.0 Marshmallow experience

Super saturated display leads to some colour inaccuracy; only day and a half of battery life with moderate use; no wireless charging; no USB 3.0 fast data transfer over USB Type-C; slow HDR mode; basic stock camera app with no manual controls; no optical stabilisation

The Nexus line is back and Google has picked Huawei to design its newest budget flagship. How does it compare to the competition?

Great Camera; Solid performance; Stock Android

That camera fascia; No Quick Charge 2.0; Quite big

Google Nexus 6P review

We had a quick hands-on with the Nexus 6P , Google's then newly announced Android 6.0 Marshmallow phablet, last year. A thoroughly premium device, hence the ‘P', to complement the more mid-market Nexus 5X, the huge handset made a confident first impression with its enhanced OS and comprehensively...

Unskinned; very latest version of Android; brilliant screen; premium performance; thin and light; big battery; quality rear camera; fast fingerprint sensor; good value

No microSD; front camera isn't as good

The Nexus 6P is a thoroughly impressive piece of kit. There's no escaping that it's a big phone, but Huawei has done a good job of wrapping the big screen around a slim and attractive body.

Nexus 6P – Review

Google's latest handset has been garnering a lot of interest from the tech world over the last few weeks. In between all the reports of people not getting their orders delivered on time and Google delaying the launch, I managed to secure one for this review.

Every year, the release of a Nexus phone is always of interest to the Android community. Nexus represents the vision of Android that Google sees for the next year, incorporating hardware that best shows off the latest version of Android and the hardware features it will support.

Beautiful screen; Fantastic Camera; Comfortable to hold and premium design

A little bit expensive; Screen seems to scratch more easily than it should; Connectivity issues on Telstrhota (though these will be resolved

Huawei Nexus 6P

If you are looking for a flagship device running stock Android, then the Nexus 6P is the device for you. It has a great camera, vibrant display and overall good performance. However, if you want a smartphone that can give you more than just stock Android performance, then we suggest you take a look...

Beautiful display; Great camera; Good overall performance; Nexus Imprint is brilliant

Inconsistent battery performance; Too big for single handed use

Unlike their usual style of launching a single smartphone per year, this year Google decided to launch two Nexus smartphones. The 6P is the flagship smartphone of the two. The 5X which we reviewed earlier proved to be a phone with good value for money.

Great Design and Build Quality; Brilliant Loudspeaker; Great Camera Quality; Good Screen; One of the Fastest Fingerprint Sensors on Any Phone; Easy to Handle Despite the Large Size; USB Type-C Port

No OIS (Jelly-like Video Effect Due to Lack of It

Google Nexus 6P review: The Android flagship smartphone to go for

If there is one Android phone that is eagerly looked forward to by every Android user, then it has to be the Google Nexus device that launches every year. Sure, you have flagships from Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG, Motorola, Lenovo and off late the Chinese phone makers such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, Gionee and...
