My Google Homes and Home Minis are way more useful than I ever thought they would be. The more stuff you add like more speakers or Chromecasts or smart outlets, the more useful the system becomes. I upgraded to two full size Google Homes up from a pair of Minis and I'm very happy with them.

I took a chance buying this device, because I don't own a Smart Phone, but have a Tablet with Android. That was enough, to get it working, and now it's my main source for music. It will play any song by any artist, that's within u tubes library.

This compact system fits almost anywhere and has given me plenty of signal from inside wooden cabinets. I do wish the units had a power switch.

I'm wondering what if anything Google is learning about me thru this product that of course is a conduit for my Internet traffic

I have Google home and Alexa. Prefer Google over Alexa because it is a search engine. Have more answers than Alexa. I find that Alexa speaker base is better quality.

I rated this 5 stars because I did my homework and knew what the existing limitations would be. While google improves the software behind the Assistant that powers this device, the mic is sharp and pics up my voice from a surprising distance.

I would still consider this a novelty item over being terribly useful. Questions must be phrased the correct way and there have been many things that Google Home cannot help with.

Doesn't understand most questions

The Google Home wasn't the first smart speaker on the scene, but don't let that put you off. While the family of devices is now into its second generation, Google hasn't bothered to update the Home's design; the recently added doesn't really count. The reason is that software is the priority here.

If you've got compatible smart home products installed, the Google Home Hub is totally worth its cover price – and absent of any unwanted video calls/privacy issues. But if you're already invested in Amazon then it might not make sense for you. Otherwise it's the perfect addition to any smart home.
