Simple and brilliant

Bought this on the weekend to replace another brand of set top box which was garbage. This is great.... Connected up OK and once it was set up, Is surprisingly fast. The ui is simple and intuitive. Works with all the FTA streaming services so well I have disconnected The aerial. It was a lot cheaper than buying a new TV just for the spare room, So I'm very happy with that. I don't care about 4k content so no comment on that front. My 10yo plasma TV is now smarter than my 2018 smart TV!

All new model

Very happy with this purchase. Once set up the remote controls my Yamaha amp for the power and volume. So no need to grab the remote for the amp to turn the volume up down. I have a home theatre set up with a projector. So this device is perfect to feed content. Once setup I have all my apps loaded ready to go, Netflix, Youtube, Kayo, Plex, and all the free to air apps from ch 7 9 10 SBS ABC all good to go. No need now for a separate set top box. Works well, nice and quick to load apps and stream. Great value for money.

Actually pretty amazing

This is absolutely perfect for people who don't want to flick through apps to find things to watch. All free to air channels can be watched through it too so you never need to switch between hdmi's. For people who aren't great with technology this is the device everyone's been waiting for, for the last 5 years. Even has Kayo, nothing but positive feedback from me.

Google Chromecast with Google TV review: Welcome to the party, Google

It was previously hard to recommend getting a Chromecast for TV, but this product - thanks to its remote control and user interface - is a much more complete offering. There are some absences to services - Apple TV+ an obvious one - but the platform feels strong already and like it will develop into something rock solid. Google might be late to the party, but it has finally arrived - and in style.

Great remote; Google Assistant integration for great search; 4K HDR support; Dolby Atmos; Great performance; New UI makes life easier; TV/Sound system control;

Some services missing - no Apple TV+ or All 4; Recommendations need development; Only supports one top level user account; No Stadia support;
