The best Chromecast yet!
Finally the ability to cast 4K content! The best Chromecast performance yet. Google Home integration is awesome. The Chromecast can be controlled by any smart device connected to the same WiFi network (even iPhone and iPad) and is incredibly easy to use.
GOOGLE Chromecast Ultra
- We love that we can now all catch up on our favourite programmes and also try the ones that are on too late
- Great to cast movies Google films and Netflix
- It isn't compatible with Amazon prime so we had to pay for Netflix as well
Expect better but not tested yet on 4K
I have upgraded my old Chromecast because I was getting delay when I was streaming but now I can see that it wasn't the fault of Chromecast and there was no different. To be honest I don't see to much different from the old one except design and this 4K which I have not used yet.
Great when it works but can be a bit Big Brother-ish with its geolocation and content checking.
Think its a bit expersive for what it does, but it does do a good job. Not at all impressed that it doesn't just stream Netflix from my devices but tries to content check it against my router IP. Means I need a VPN on my router for extended content to play. But otherwise its simple and effective.
Rather have FireTV or Roku
If I had known I had to cast everything from my phone I would have just bought another Roku. I am using it for youtubetv and their app is very clunky on the chromecast and MUCH bettter on Roku. FireTV would be even better if they weren't in a feud with google and youtubetv worked on it.
Google Chromecast Ultra - Black. Faster processing speeds, 4k Ultra HD, works with iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, Chromebook
The next iteration of Chromecast, required if you would like to view content in 4k. A month in and the product is working flawlessly. Absolutely nothing negative to say and is much fast than its predecessors.
Google Chromecast (2018) review
The Chromecast is an incredibly neat little gadget that allows you to watch almost all of your favourite steaming and catch-up services. It’s incredibly simple to use, clutter-free and comes with a bargain price tag The omission of Amazon Prime Video is exasperating but inevitable so we can’t really fault Google for that. The lack of a physical remote control will also be divisive. While using your smartphone as a remote is a slick experience, it’s no good if your phone’s battery is dead or you want to have it sitting on your charger while you relax in front of the TV. If you’ve already got the 2nd-gen Chromecast there’s little point in upgrading to the new model. But if you’re a Chromecast rookie or you’re still using the original model, then it’s 30 quid well spent.- Bargain price
- Easy setup
- Good app selection

- No Amazon Prime Video app
- Voice control is limited
Did not work on my WIN10 HOME.
I tried fo 28 days to get this item to work. About 2 weeks elapsed time with the VIDEOSTREAM and CHROME HELP STAFF could not fix the problem. I have had the original CHROMECAST device for 2 years and it works great.
Google Chromecast Ultra - Black
More stable I would say than the original chromecast. I had some intention to buy this for better picture and 4K ability but this actually has a better connection to my wifi than the original chromecast 2nd gen. For all of those who keep loosing signal this could be the answer.
If you only use WiFi connection, then it's easy and you probably don't notice a very confusing limitation. This is why I only gave it a 3-star rating. I generally prefer using hard-wired ethernet whenever possible: simple plug-and-play (no passcode), secured (only use physical connection), and...
