Judged purely on whether it's a good gadget or not, the Chromecast Ultra is a success. It streams well, is simple to use, and is supported by most streaming services (other than Amazon's Instant Video).

The first Chromecast was an important product for Google. It came at the perfect time, when TV-based apps were still in their infancy, with TVs operating systems generally being a bit of a mess.
