If you're spending this much on a drone, you certainly need to consider what features you would like. If you want a tiny drone, or the very best image quality, then look elsewhere. If you want something really easy to fly, with some extra video equipment to boot, then this is the drone for you!

GoPro Karma drone review: Good things come to those who wait

To say that GoPro's first effort at launching a quadcopter was turbulent would be something of an understatement. Initially it seemed an impressive, affordable machine - until DJI announced the smaller, more technologically advanced Mavic Pro .

As a package, the Karma has undeniable appeal, especially for those already well invested in the GoPro system of mounts and cameras. It’s a well-built, all-in-one airborne and handheld stabilisation setup that fits into a slim, lightweight backpack. And the Hero5 Black’s image quality does the job nicely. As a flying camera platform, it’s less impressive. With lower range and fewer safety features than its chief rivals, and no “follow me” mode, it just doesn’t offer as advanced a feature set as we’d expect from a quadcopter in this price bracket. With the Mavic Pro and Phantom 4, DJI is streets ahead of (or should that be feet above) GoPro at the moment – but there’s promise here, and hopefully Karma’s next reincarnation will fix the issues and offer up something with bigger all-round appeal. Great piece of kit

This was a considerable upgrade from my previous inexpensive drone. What drew me in was the inclusion of the go pro and the gimbal. This meant I could upgrade my go pro and also acquire a gimbal which made this particular drone stand out from other brands. The drone itself is excellent.

GoPro Karma Review – A Good, But Not Great Drone

First up is the price tag. Karma costs $800 at retail or $1,100 if you opt for the HERO5 Bundle, which includes the camera. In other words, if you don't already have a HERO4 Silver, HERO4 Black, or HERO5 Black then you'll be paying over a thousand smackers for this guy.

Does exactly what it says on the tin

Lacks in range and battery life compared to its competitors, but if your looking to buy this you will most likely be farmiliar with GoPro already. These cameras are to best effect with wide scenic or closeup action shots.
