GoPro Hero 6 Black
According to the market buzz, this is a BIG step up for the Go Pro. How big? Let's find out in this buying guide.
QuikStories With a Happy Ending
Download the free Go Pro and Quik mobile apps and take advantage of QuikStories, where you can send footage to your phone and let the app automatically edit it into the breath-taking video. Much of the buzz around the Hero6 Black is around this feature.
Twice The Performance
Much of Go Pro's "big step up" has to do with 4K60 and 1080p240 video, capable of delivering twice the performance of its predecessors.
A Sharper Image
The Go Pro Hero 6 Black also promises the best image quality ever, thanks to a brand new GP1 chip which has been optimised with this Go Pro model in mind.
Steady As It Goes
Smooth, stable footage really enhances the viewing experience, and the Go Pro Hero 6 Black delivers there as well, with what they call their most advanced video stabilisation yet.
It's Faster As Well
With 5 GHz Wi-Fi, copying video and photos to your phone is a much faster experience: 3 x faster offload speeds to be precise.
Low Light Is Alright
Another improvement in the Hero 6 Black is enhanced image quality for both video and photos in low-light.
Tougher Than Ever
These upgraded and updated features are housed in a tough and strong body. As a Go Pro is often used in and around water, you'll be pleased to know the Hero 6 Black is waterproof up to 10 metres.

great for diving
I bought it to record my diving performance so I purchased supersuite and red filter as well. I have to say the video is great!
Best on the market
I require a action camera to film skydiving activities. After extensive research the go pro6 came up the best but the then price of £499 was off putting but the day after reduced to £399 so it was a no brainier. Image stability is amazing Video quality and sharpness does everything I need and more.
Hero 6
Love it. Great picture/video! Definitely do not regret this purchase.- Easy to Use
The best in the business
"Have mostly used the go pro hero 6 as a biking camera. Got some great shots in Wales and Lake District so far. Service was fast efficient and haven't got any bad words to say about it. "

New to GoPro, purchased GoPro6 quick delivery, saved $73 from retail prices. I wasn't aware that the memory card didn't come with it. Must have accessories 1. Memory card 2. Dual battery charger set. I also got 3-way DVC & float handle. Slowly build on getting more accessories.
GoPro HERO6 Black
Happy with it so far. Images nice quality, only tried 1080p linear and wide angle. First action cam. Zoom function does not appear to be accessible while filming, would be my only complaint. Had some difficulty with loading movies to iMovie, and customer service was friendly, helpful.- Image quality
- build quality
- Pricy
- can't zoom while filming
Love REI but Go Pro customer service is horrible.
Contacted go pro after the back screen on our go pro 6, bought two weeks ago and never used, wouldn't turn on. Followed the website instructions for updating firmware, formatting SD card, etc.
DO NOT BUY,,,, WAIST OF TIME AND MONEY
This thing SUCKS...…. Over heated and burned up a new memory card. Missed everything. Missed SOME OF THE BEST VIDEO I ever took and trashed a new card. This thing is going back and so is the card. Total waist of time buying and using.
GoPro HERO 6 Review – Best Action Camera Yet!
When the HERO 6 Black was first announced, my initial thought was that it was going to be a marginal update over the GoPro HERO5 Black …I was way wrong. This is flat out the best action camera that GoPro or any other company has ever created. Here's what you can expect from it.- Stunning 4K footage up to 60fps with better codec and compression
- Huge ecosystem of compatible accessories and mounts
- Super rugged design – water resistant down to 10 meters
- Vastly improved image quality for videos and photos + superb image stabilization
- Faster processor makes using this camera...
- Expensive
- Battery drains quickly when shooting in 4K
- Sharing media still has plenty of road blocks
