GoPro HERO5 Session
The GoPro HERO5 Session was announced at the same time as the HERO5 Black, and is intended as an entry-level action camera - or some people may want to consider it as a second camera for the more advanced HERO5 Black.

Great for capturing family moments
We got this for Christmas and have used it loads. It's small and sturdy so we're not afraid to take it everywhere- the beach, to woods and at home. You just pick it up and push one button and you're recording for those spontaneous moments!

GoPro Karma Grip review
The Karma Grip delivers silky smooth video when you're moving around, is very easy to use and battery life is good. It's a shame that it only supports the Hero 5 Black out of the box, and there are no harnesses for Session cameras or even the Hero 3 range.

Recommended! No reason to buy Hero 5 black. Many fear the poor battery life on hero5 session without good reason. With GoPro Hero5 Session you can easily connect to an external charger that costs a few hundred pounds and you have longer battery life than Hero 5 Black.

GoPro Hero5 Session
GoPro's Session camera got off to a rocky start. The tiny cube-shaped shooter -- the smallest the company had ever made -- received praise for its design while simultaneously being bashed for middling video quality and too few features for too high a price.
Pros:
- The GoPro Hero5 Session is a big improvement in video and photo quality from the original Hero Session
- Additions like voice control, electronic video stabilization and USB-C help justify the $100 price difference
Cons:
- You'll have to connect to a phone or tablet to see what you're shooting
- The built-in battery means that once the battery is drained, you'll have to stop to charge or connect to a power source to keep recording

GoPro Hero5 Session Review
The GoPro HERO5 Session is odd. In fact, it looks boring. One lens, two buttons, and 1" cubical dimensions. It's not exactly your textbook recipe for 4K video, but this little sucker is a hell of a camera. Yes, better action cams exist, but for the size, it's a workhorse.
Pros:
- Up to 4K at 30fps
- Image stabilization
- Water resistant to 10ATM
- Voice commands
- Good battery life
Cons:
- No display for previewing/reviewing media
- Does not float

GoPro HERO5 Session
First off I want to say that the review from MuseumGirl is wrong, you don't need a cellphone at all to use this camera. It just makes it easier to change settings, and use as a viewfinder as this doesn't have a built in screen.
