Was the cheapest 1070 I could find. Occasionally gets noisy, but seems to play everything at 4k in high or above. Have not noticed any lag at all. Could be slightly easier to overclock but I'm getting there
This review is for the Windforce OC version. I personally don't think it is the best looking card. The front looks quite bulky, does not have a backplate, and the plastic shroud isn't that premium-looking. However, the GPU itself works well. Two 90 mm fans keep the card cool and quiet.
I bought this card for a friend that does CAD work. The software with the previous card would kick him out or freeze. With the new card he could do high end resolutions with no problems and renderings that took 30 minutes or more were done in 8 minutes.
Quite happy with the card. Probably not worth paying much more over the competition unless the length, and possibly noise (I'm not sure how others fare) is a decision factor for you.
- Shorter than most other higher-end; open-air cooler cards I've looked at (strix; etc) at 287mm (11.3") and one of the few that fits in my Fractal Design Define R3 (non-removable HDD cage).
- Aorus Graphics Engine utility BSOD on start in Win10 for me; That app has bad reputation; So while I use MSI AB for OC, I haven't been able to adjust RGB or toggle internal HDMI ports.
Research led me to this card. Consensus seems to be that this generation of cards are all pretty equivalent in terms of clock speeds and capabilities. Card has been pretty quiet so far - hopefully that doesn't change.
Card arrived much quicker than anticipated; My experience with newegg shipping in the past has been kinda slow and problematic at times; Install was painless - luckily saved my extra PSU cables since this card doesn't include any.
Huge card! Somewhat convoluted process to redeem Gears of War 4, plus was charged $60 for the game and $320 for the card separately; I'm guessing this all has to do with the MS Store; Was surprised, especially compared to dead simple Steam Key experiences
If you're looking for a GPU that runs quiet, runs cool, supports all sorts of overclocking, and is just overall a beast, this is the GPU for you. Save yourself a little coin and avoid the pre-overclocked variations and do the work yourself. Games look gorgeous and the output doesn't skip a beat.
It doesn't have the power of the 1080 and doesn't even compare to the 2000 series of Nvidia graphics cards. When I originally bought this card it was $375. The value to performance ratio was pretty good so I settled on this GPU.
Overall a good
Speed is there; now running 4 monitors, 1920x1200 qty 2 2560x1440 qty 1 3840 x2160 qty 1 Most workloads that I've thrown at it; it seems to handle with ease; no lags experienced Lower power consumption; PC is now running at 160 watts; where as before I was pushing 225 watts Most often the fans sit...
When coming out of sleep mode; it takes about 10 seconds for all the screens to start; there is considerable lag for the system to recognize the correct monitor locations or positions
Excellent card, running at 1080p, Witcher 3 Ultra settings, hairworks on and hitting 60FPS. Geralt looks like he's stepped out of a Loreal commercial (he's worth it!) Quiet card too, fans only kick in when needed. One small issue installing the card.
