Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 is the last game in the Gears of War trilogy to follow the story of Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, and the rest of Delta Squad. It was released on September 20, 2011, and it brought the story to a well-deserved close; a story which, along the way, inspired five novels by author Karen...

Complex; rewarding; and polished cover-based shooter gameplay; A guided but compellingly written story that brings the Gears trilogy to a close; Rich; creative graphical presentation; the best in the series

Competitive multiplayer has a very steep learning curve

Gears of War 3: RAAM's Shadow

Zigzagging through different perspectives is one of the tentpoles of storytelling in Gears of War 3 , so it makes sense that the game's campaign DLC would follow suit. But instead of hopscotching between various bros- and bro-ettes-in-arms on the COG side of things, RAAM's Shadow gets fancy on us.

+ Decent gameplay variety provides some new twists not found in the main game; + Throwback prequel storyline offers a good glimpse at past characters

? How does Barrick's cigar last until the end of the entire DLC?

Gears of War 3 (Xbox 360)

Loud, brash, pretty, and crass that perfectly sums up the Gears of War 3 experience. The scene is set as humanity's last glimmer of hope of surviving an all out Lambent takeover lies within the trigger fingers of a ragtag disbanded group of Gears (Soldiers) of the COG (Coalition of Ordered...

Great campaign; Fast paced action; Tons of features

Extremely violent; Excessive gore; Horrible language

Gears of War 3 Review (Xbox 360)

Few Xbox 360 exclusive franchises can hold a candle to Epic Games' Gears of War, which managed to trump almost all other series except for Halo, and even gives multi-platform franchises like Call of Duty a serious run for their money.

+Great end to the trilogy; +Extremely polished gameplay; +Great voice acting

-Graphics aren't that impressive; -Mostly monotone visuals

Test Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3

What we have here ladies and gentlemen is a proper addition to a fabulous shooter franchise, crammed from top to bottom with content that's guaranteed to keep you occupied for hours. Gears of War 3 is a game you'll surely want to add to your collection.

This is the third time we play Gears of War and we still love it

The series has come to its peek and it's starting to feel a bit stale altogether

Gears of War 3 Review

Razor sharp gameplay and an aggressive amount of features never fail to entertain. The campaign stops short of transcendence, but the level of blood, sweat, and heart clearly poured into Gears of War 3 creates a whole that is more than the sum of its parts.

Combat dialed to perfection; Improved Multiplayer; Unreal Engine is out-of-control beautiful; More than your money's worth

Story doesn't quite live up to the "Brothers to the End" hype; No solo Beast mode; Supporting characters should be seen and not heard

Gears of War 3 review

We won't tease you for longer than this sentence – Gears of War 3 is awesome. The campaign is epic, with action sequences that are more intense, weapons that are more powerful, enemies that are more formidable and heroes that are more relatable than ever before.

Campaign's intense action and ferocious enemies; Brutal yin and yang of Horde and Beast modes; Quality and diversity evident in every multiplayer map

Occasionally too predictable and too familiar story; Your kill-stealing; glory-hogging AI partners; Hanging out with Ice-T instead of Cole; Dom or Baird

Gears of War was the first truly mind blowing graphically next-gen game when it came out in 2006. Gears 2 was "bigger, better, and more bad ass" in 2008 and was sort of like an unruly teenager.

It is a good family game

This game is a lot more enjoyable than I expected. It is a good family game. Also, you can cut of the bad language and blood. The only problem was the fact that their can't be more than two players on the same console.
