Garmin Forerunner 235 GPS Watch
I purchased this watch hoping for a good running watch with passable activity tracking. After all, if I wanted an activity tracker, I wouldn't have purchased a watch that is specifically meant for running, right

If you have a garmin Heart Monitor device, you nee
All Garmin devices use Ant+ technology, so Polar or any other HR Strap's don't work. Garmin sells these for $60. Way more expensive than these really should cost. However, they work well, and for less than $40 I am happy with my purchase.

Garmin Forerunner 235 review
The Garmin Forerunner 235 is the company's latest running watch with wrist-based heart rate monitoring built in. Coming less than a year after the Forerunner 225 , it may seem like a simple incremental update.
Pros:
- Looks great
- Superb activity tracking
- Well rounded running stats
Cons:
- Optical HR tech not accurate enough
- Garmin Connect app confusing
- Missing fun training modes

Easy HR monitor
Got this from Garmin in trade for a pesky Forerunner 225. Much thinner than 225, and gets HR with less band tension. In cold weather, I pull back sleeve to see, or some of my Nike shirts have thumbholes that fit over watch.

Big Improvement Over Forerunner 405
I had a Forerunner 405 previous to this 235. Big improvements. I like the buttons vs the bezel which was difficult at best to navigate at times. The screen is bigger and much easier to read with better contrast and bigger numbers.
Pros:
- Bigger and easier to read display
- built in heart rate monitor
- ability to customize display
- can switch easily to cycling from running
Cons:
- I wish the display was a bit brighter, in shade with sunglasses, it can be difficult to read but still better than the 405
- The heart rate measurement can be erratic and unreliable
- Can't use the old Garmin Training Center computer app which I preferred to use to get a quick view of workout data

Great watch, but very fragile
I love this product for running. I haven't used the cycling, but had heard it was good for swimming. After I bought it, that wasn't true. I didn't use it for it, though, just found out by reading the instructions. I am on my second watch since February, but I need to exchange it again.

Great all-round watch
Originally bought the touch screen Garmin VivoSmart, but returned it and bought this instead. Touch screen sounds like it would be a good idea, but in practice it's better to be able to feel the start/stop button.

Garmin Forerunner 235 review
These days we expect running watches to be more than distance and pace trackers. Increasingly, we want them to coach us too, with insights on how to improve form and train smarter.
Pros:
- Resting heart rate insights
- Sharp looks
- lightweight design
- Good value
Cons:
- Intermittent syncing issues
- A bit plastic
- Sleep tracking needs work

Garmin Forerunner 235 review
Despite the flaws of the Garmin Connect app, the Forerunner 235 is one of the better GPS running watches on the market. Its relatively subtle black model can pass for daywear, and the accuracy and reliability of GPS tracing are second to none. But if you want an app that is easy to get to grips with and immediately encourages you to train up to a certain distance, then you may prefer the Polar M430. The Forerunner 235 is designed with all running abilities in mind, but ends up feeling more for elite enthusiasts than it should.

Garmin Forerunner 235 review: The best watch for casual and serious runners
The Garmin Forerunner 235 offers the best value for serious and casual runners looking for an all-in-one running watch and fitness tracker. The Garmin Forerunner 225 was one of my favorite running watches of 2015. It was a device I personally recommend to numerous friends and family members, but there's a new king of the hill -- the Forerunner 235.
Pros:
- The Garmin Forerunner 235 has accurate GPS for tracking runs and a 24/7 wrist-based heart-rate monitor
- It can track all-day activities like steps and sleep, and can display notifications from iPhone and Android devices
- It's water-resistant and can be worn in the shower or while swimming.
Cons:
- Heart rate accuracy drops off during interval training
- there are occasional connection and syncing problems and Garmin's Connect app can be confusing to navigate.
