If you have a garmin Heart Monitor device, you nee

All Garmin devices use Ant+ technology, so Polar or any other HR Strap's don't work. Garmin sells these for $60. Way more expensive than these really should cost. However, they work well, and for less than $40 I am happy with my purchase.

Fav. Christmas gift

I'm obsessed with this watch. I had been wanting a running watch for ages and I was so excited when Garmin released the new Forerunner line. I have had the watch for two weeks now and have worn it almost exclusively to get a better idea of my heart rate, etc.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • great for training
Cons:
  • Expensive

BSX Insight Gen2 In-Depth Review

Back in September BSX announced their Gen2 version of the BSX Insight device, which determines your lactate threshold without any invasive pricking for blood. More relevant to the Gen2 version though is that they introduced the ability to broadcast and record muscle oxygenation information from the...

Garmin Forerunner 235 review

The Garmin Forerunner 235 is the company's latest running watch with wrist-based heart rate monitoring built in. Coming less than a year after the Forerunner 225 , it may seem like a simple incremental update.
Pros:
  • Looks great
  • Superb activity tracking
  • Well rounded running stats
Cons:
  • Optical HR tech not accurate enough
  • Garmin Connect app confusing
  • Missing fun training modes

Easy HR monitor

Got this from Garmin in trade for a pesky Forerunner 225. Much thinner than 225, and gets HR with less band tension. In cold weather, I pull back sleeve to see, or some of my Nike shirts have thumbholes that fit over watch.

Great Garmin

I got 2 of these for my wife and me. She loves hers and says it helps her on her runs already. Had it for a week now and has preformed brilliantly on both runs and bike rides. Links perfectly with Strava.

"Sportsmen will go crazy :)"

Recently, I've understood the ultimate reason of sharing your hobbies and life stories with colleagues: they'll give you nice presents! XD Surely, I'm joking, but boyfriend who goes in for sports got Garmin Forerunner 235 from his co-workers on Birthday half a year ago.
Pros:
  • Multifunctionality
Cons:
  • Price

Garmin Forerunner 235

Let's just get this out of the way: the Forerunner 235 is in my opinion Garmin's best watch yet. For some reason everything just meshes into a great timepiece. Where last year's Forerunner 225 (review) showed where Garmin can go with a heart rate monitor built into the watch, the Forerunner 235...
Pros:
  • Great look and feel
  • much improved app
  • all day heart rate monitoring
Cons:
  • Four day battery life
  • Garmin website still needs work

Garmin Forerunner 235 review: The best watch for casual and serious runners

The Garmin Forerunner 235 offers the best value for serious and casual runners looking for an all-in-one running watch and fitness tracker. The Garmin Forerunner 225 was one of my favorite running watches of 2015. It was a device I personally recommend to numerous friends and family members, but there's a new king of the hill -- the Forerunner 235.
Pros:
  • The Garmin Forerunner 235 has accurate GPS for tracking runs and a 24/7 wrist-based heart-rate monitor
  • It can track all-day activities like steps and sleep, and can display notifications from iPhone and Android devices
  • It's water-resistant and can be worn in the shower or while swimming.
Cons:
  • Heart rate accuracy drops off during interval training
  • there are occasional connection and syncing problems and Garmin's Connect app can be confusing to navigate.
