Garmin Fenix 5 Review: The Best Outdoor GPS Watch
I prefer the fenix 5's design to that of the $349 TomTom Adventurer , another go-anywhere GPS watch, which has a square face with a small d-pad below it. While there's nothing wrong with how the TomTom looks, it feels a bit out of place if you're wearing it in a more formal setting.
Pros:
- Durable design
- Outdoor-readable display
- Long battery life
- Customizable display
Cons:
- Expensive
- Low-resolution screen

Garmin Fenix 5 review: Smart sports watches don't come better than this
If you're an avid runner or cyclist, there's a good chance that either you or someone you know well is sporting a Garmin watch. Over the past few years, the company's reputation for building the best sports-tracking wearables has grown.
Pros:
- Amazing battery life
- solid build quality
- huge range of sports tracking and features
- reliable performance
Cons:
- Might be big for some
- proprietary 22mm QuickFit bands only
- screen doesn't look great

Superb upgrade
Loved with Fenix 3, a great watch. This is a step above in all areas. Better functionality and whilst only a little bit smaller, it makes a huge difference. Feels even more premium as a product but retains the same qualities as its predecessor.

Garmin Fenix 5 review
Garmin’s Fenix 5, then, is the undeniable champion of multi-sport trackers. Not least because it can track almost every discipline that’s out there. It also manages to be tough without looking ungainly, and carries a real sense of premium build quality that’s not undermined by a shoddy interface. Those physical buttons actually add to the experience, especially during exercise, while strong Bluetooth and battery performance polish things into a complete tracking package that's also comfortable on smartwatch duty. For most people, it’s also probably overkill. Overkill that you’ll pay £500 for. Unless you're an Ironman, wearing the Fenix 5 means knowing you’ll never truly test its full feature set. It’ll be like owning an Aston Martin in the centre of london: it looks ruddy lovely, turns heads and has the potential to make a lot of noise, but only occasionally get to stretch its legs to the fullest extent. This is a five-star product, then, but one that should, arguably, only be bought by those who eat triathlons for breakfast - or those who don't mind paying big bucks for the smartest, and smartest-looking, multisports watch around. Buy the Garmin Fenix 5 here from Garmin
Pros:
- Able to track almost anything
- Full training companion
- Astounding build quality
- Excellent battery life
Cons:
- Physical button inputs can be confusing
- Amount of data can actually confound
- Connect partner app isn’t the clearest
- Expensive

Fantastic watch. Lots of functionality. The Heartbeat tracking has about a 30 second delay so if you're really tracking it for HIT training get a chest strap.

Garmin fenix 5
First time buyer of the Fenix series multisport watch. Fit and finish is very impressive. It looks and feels like an expensive watch (which is good, because it's certainly not inexpensive). Stylish to wear with a suit or out for a Sunday run.
Pros:
- Solid look and feel - Can track everything you throw at it - Golf GPS built in (works awesome) - Super strong battery life
Cons:
- - HR monitor can be inaccurate at times - Questionable calorie burn data compared with Fitbit Charge - Limited "app" store for customization
- but if you're buying this watch it's not to play games or respond to texts

Good options
Big upgrade for myself, has alot of options. Fairly straightforward to navigate through different screens. Only issue so far are the buttons they are in the wrong position when climbing and exciting a pool. If you bend your wrist back the to if hand hits buttons and changes the settings.

My Fitbit Blaze is more accurate at 1/4 the price!
My fitbit blaze is not holding a charge after about a year, so looking for a new tracker. I was told to go Garmin... I was then told not to look at the reviews online, and that this was a good watch. Many of the reviews are negative, and I have experienced the same.
