Garmin Epix 2 review: Adventure goes premium
The second-generation Epix finds the right balance between offering a bright, colourful display and maintaining strong battery life. Like many of Garmin's more premium offerings, though, the Epix 2 isn't for everybody, despite being an outstanding watch.
Pros:
- Bright and vibrant display
- Solid tracking features
- Excellent health data
- Durable build
Cons:
- Only comes in one size
- Lacking interactive notifications
- Battery not as long-lasting as Fenix
- Very expensive

Garmin Epix (Gen 2) review
The Epix (Gen 2) is the ultimate sports watch, taking Garmin's most advanced sports tracking tech and fitting it all into a rugged 47mm case topped off with a stunning AMOLED touchscreen. If the Fenix 7 lacks the wow factor you're looking for, this is the watch for you. That sharp, vivid display is power-hungry though, and while the Epix (Gen 2) offers very respectable battery life, it's nowhere near that of the more frugal Fenix 7. It's down to you to decide what matters most – looks or longevity.
Pros:
- Stunning AMOLED display
- Advanced but accessible fitness tracking
- Accurate GPS and excellent maps
Cons:
- Shorter battery life than Fenix 7
- No microphone for calls
- Most expensive Garmin to date
