My favorite Fuji lens...

I own the 18-55, 55-200, 18f2, 35f2 and the 60f2.4 and the 60 is my favorite. It's probably the slowest lens of the bunch, and might be the noisiest, but the rendering is gorgeous and it simply takes beautiful photos. I use the others for fun, but I use the 60 to put food on the table.

One of the very first x lenses and still optically one of the best, but if speed matters to you walk away now.

Image quality often stunning; Distortion non-existent; Easily the best Fuji lens hood - all-metal, deep and fits with a confidence inspiring ‘snick'; Almost immune to flare because of both the deeply recessed front element and the aforementioned lens hood

Painfully slow autofocus, prone to hunting over it's full range when focus is missed; No focus limiter; I agree with James - close focus, yes, macro No; AF is also noisy, but both slowness and noise somewhat improved after firmware updates; No Image Stabiliser

Superb quality but would question the use of the word "macro

Fujifilm describe this as a macro lens and whilst it does get close up, it is not a true macro. Don't buy this lens if you want to see a bee's eyes!! That's the one negative. The positives are many, particularly picture quality, which is stunning!

Sloooooow

I returned it. It was exceptionally slow. Other reviewers said so but I wanted to try it because I love macro but I'm not a skilled enough photographer

One of the older lenses in the Fuji line-up. If you are patient with it's slow focussing, it is still one of the best.

Exceptionally sharp, even for a close to 50mm lens. Extremely low distortion. No discernible fringing. Entirely immune from flare. Exceptional metal lenshood which embarrasses the plastic types Fuji supplies with more recent lenses.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro

The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro ($649.95) covers a short telephoto field of view and is capable of focusing close enough to reproduce objects with 1:2 magnification. It's one of the first lenses that Fuji released for the X camera system, and doesn't disappoint in terms of sharpness.

Excellent sharpness; No distortion; Metal barrel and aperture ring; Includes metal hood; Compact

Focus on the slow side; Magnification limited to 1:2; Omits image stabilization; Electronic manual focus system

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro Review

The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro ($649.95) covers a short telephoto field of view and is capable of focusing close enough to reproduce objects with 1:2 magnification. It's one of the first lenses that Fuji released for the X camera system, and doesn't disappoint in terms of sharpness. It's not without some faults; the autofocus is on the slow side and the focus-by-wire manual focus can be frustrating when working at macro distances. We had similar complaints when we reviewed the Zeiss Touit 2.8/50M($899.00 at Amazon), which is more expensive, but can focus closer for 1:1 macro magnification. The 60mm ($649.00 at Amazon)  is compact at just 2.8 by 2.5 inches (HD), and fairly light at 7.6 ounces. Its front element uses tiny 39mm filters, and a reversible metal lens hood is included. The hood is imposing; it almost doubles the length of the lens. But it's good idea to use it, as it does an effective job blocking stray light from hitting the front element. The lens barrel is...

The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro is a sharp macro lens, but it doesn't offer 1:1 magnification and focus is on the slow side.

Excellent sharpness; No distortion; Metal barrel and aperture ring; Includes metal hood; Compact

Focus on the slow side; Magnification limited to 1:2; Omits image stabilization; Electronic manual focus system

Great Value for Current Pricing

For the current price, this is a good lens. It's well made and does the job for most of my close up work, although not technically a Marco lens, I believe. I am using it on my X-Pro1 for outside situations.

Durable; Image Quality; Reliable

Good portrait lens

Great pictures, bokeh, and build quality. Feels very solid. Others have complained about its slow focus speed, but I haven't really noticed unless the lighting is pretty low (like iso 3200 low)
